Why would you believe what any local dealer tells you? I am the proud owner of a Ford wildtrack all white and all singing and dancing 3.2 bye they way.

But I didn't buy it from Phuket I bought it from Mukdahan up in sticky rice land and I saved 80,000 baht would have been 100,000 baht but I had to slip the slimy so and so 20,000 but I only gave him 10,000 to start with and the other when I get the truck I'm sure you lot have lived here long enough to know the you have to oil the wheeels of motion.

It was a good drive back stopped of at a few places on the way

Nothing worse than waiting on something you were promised at a certain time. Believe me, I know as I waited for the white D-Max last year, but got black. My father use to say, “son….if you wait for something, it’s much better when you get it.” I was a virgin until I was 37. He was right. It was fast, but it was really fun. Anyway Peter, I hope it gets here soon.

Sincerely

No, 2-3 months wait. Agree with you about the looks though.

Strange, is that general or just 1-2 they have on stock? I know when I ordered mine had to wait a few months, and also last month there was still a 2-3 months wait.

Rang the local ford dealer at 8.30am this morning and made a appointment to see the sales manager at 10am because i was sick of the codswallop different salesman were telling me about delivery date of wildtrak

When we got there it was the sales zone manager for the south of Thailand we talked to not the dealer sales manager

Our vildtrak should be manufactured by ford on the 12Sept and deliver between 4 to 6 weeks later as tax and other things must be paid before its delivered to the dealer

There is no shortage of parts manufactured in Thailand, some parts are manufactured in India and other countries and these do not always arrive when they are supposed to which can alter the delivery date

Ford Thailand have a policy of supplying vehicles according to when the order is placed

They fine the dealers 50,000 baht if they find out about people being given preferential delivery

There are many BT's there, I asked the girl when can I have, she say straight away, I very much doubt she is telling lies when there are many BT's parked there!! At the end of the day if you wanted to buy and are told you can have this one straight away it would obviously be one that is parked there!!

Yes, you can have the one that is there, but if you want something different (different colour, number of doors, A/T or whatever) you'll have to wait a few months.

That's fair enough, they seem to have a good mix of 4 dor and 2 door, good value, free Insurance, free rear liner, free rear seat on the 2 door, free transportation, free registration, free 1500bht fuel. Think the 2 door non Hi Racer is great value at 639000 baht non ABS. ABS option is 50,000bht more, would go for the non ABS model Personaly never needed ABS in over 40 yrs driving.

Don't understand your post at all!!

There are at least 20 BT's at Mazda, are you saying these are not available for immediate delivery?

If you are happy with one of the models currently at Mazda are you saying it is not possible to purchase it?

Are you saying the dealer is lieing?

If none of the many BT's currently at Mazda are not for sale what are they doing there?

IMO abs brakes are essential once in australia and twice here without ABS i would have been involved in a accident

With ABS the brakes do not lock but stop you in about the same distant even on wet and slipper roads and you can still steer the car

which you cannot do if any of the brakes lock up which happens without ABS

How many good drivers have you seen here either Thai or farang its the bad drivers who cause the emergency stopping situations not the

good drivers

There are lots of debates on ABS brakes, it is better to adopt a safe driving style than to rely on ABS, Obviously if it is an option then many people will go for it.

I have always been a safe driver and never caused a accident except when i was a new driver in my teens

and those accidents never involved anyone else

50,000 baht is not expensive IMO if it saves you from being in involved a accident that would have been caused by another persons bad driving

Mazdas are freely available unless you want a specific model in a colour of your choice

If you read post 39 you will understand why fords are not, i have done my homework

No it is not expensive and many people will choose to have it,many people will also choose not to have it, if it is an option then there is no reason not to have it!! Unless the expense is a problem.

If the Wildtrack is the pick-up you want the wait is not important!! It will be good in this rain, many floods out there!!

I thought my March was going to be swallowed up by the huge lake outside TOT!!

i have had my white 3.2 wildtrak for nearly 2 months now and it's certainly worth the wait we waited over 8 months.

The truck is awesome I have had previous rangers but this is a whole new ball game.

I found the 2.2 engine had adequate power it will only be used as a passenger vehicle with light loads

If i still lived in Australia and towed boats or caravans i would definitely buy the 3.2 engine but not here its not needed

If you are going to carry 1000 pineapples or 1000 coconuts a pick-up is great, 4x4 is not needed unless you are a farmer!! Seriously though pick-ups are a very safe mode of transport.

Had a look today they have a fairly good selection but only in Manual gears

Saleslady said 1 to 2 months for delivery of a ordered automatic, in sales persons talk 2 months for delivery

More and more I am thinking of gettin a pick-up, just back from Cha Am, the drive up there is fraught with danger, I am talking about the huge holes in the road and just the most awful road surface, most of the road is fine untill you hit the many stretches of road that would not look out of place in a field, so many times my March went down a hole, I thought the suspension would crumble, the awful surface shook the car so much again I thought something would break, got back safety and the car intact with no apparent damage, so maybe a change soon!!

Saw a 2.2 black Wildtrak this morning with white number plates so it must have been here for a while.

I have seen a few around, i talked to the ford motor company's sales manager for southern Thailand the last time we visited the dealer

He showed me on his laptop the ours was due to be manufactured on the 12 Sept but was very vague about delivery date, come the 13Th i will be on there backs we have waited long enough for our driving holiday to Isaan, Cambodia and Laos

I was told recently that the reason for long waits is due to the majority of Rangers being made for export!!
