Son Of Nakhon Ratchasima M.P. Shot Dead; M.P. Likely Target Of Killing: Police

A case of mistaken identity. I always feel sorry when someone's family member is killed or dies, but politicians live by their own rules and sometimes die by them.

Don't feel too sorry. The death of the son probably saved some poor sap from being run over by him in the future, for which, as the son of a prominent politician he would undoubtedly walk away from without any negative personal ramifications.

What an absolutely ridiculous, not to say moronic assumption.

Not when you know that the 27 year old boy was carying a gun.

Apparently not without good reason as it turns out.

The terrifying things is whether they think the public is so stupid, or whether they may be right.

What crap theory and assumptions! Like you know the son personally to know that he would take after the father! For Christ's sake, he is only 27 years! Life is just the beginning for him. Too cruel of you to be judging him on the merits of his father!! Get a life!

I suggest you take a lesson in the reality of some of these political mafia families and also Thai family bonds and expectations that come with that. There is only one group that they are groomed to take care off and that is not what the son wants but what the family and more importantly what the father thinks. They have no care for the Thai people only their own selfish greed and power grip.

Sadness and condolences go to the family of those with morals and values like the nurse who died in the final storming of the Wat in scum like Thaksins terrorist attack on Bangkok in 2010 or the prison guard hit man killed by his fellow corrupt scum guards just a few days ago.

While not agreeing with the sons death but also hoping the sons murderers are brought to justice, to be granting condolences to these scum is accepting the status quo of these thugs taking this country further into the gutter.

Ah family expectations. And I wonder what happens if say, a family member decides to take a break from tradition? Let's speculate on that, shall we... I sure as hell am.

Aw, cra-- I mean, excrement. I was just saying how the "other" newspaper looked stupid for reporting this. But I guess not -- they are just reporting exactly what the Police said. Kudos to the Royal Thai Police on their excellent assump-- err I mean, professional work.

I mean, it's clear the Thai public ~IS~ stupid enough to buy this excuse -- they are conditioned to by the 'education' system. However, I had always thought the BiB underwent a different 'class' of 'schooling' and weren't subjected to the same kind of conditioning that the rest of the voting population receives. It appears I've been wrong all along... how else could they not think of better excuses.

I'm no expert, but should I role-play the Police chief, I think I could come up with a few better excuses such as:

• they were really trying to off the father but couldn't see through the illegal, heavy-tinted windows so they got the wrong person

• the people in the pick up were shooting at stray dogs for game; it was all an accident

• everything is really all just a bizarre coincidence

• it is routine for locals to discharge their firearms like so

• suicide -- the son must have been applying for permanent residency abroad, which would make him farang-ish and everyone knows that farangs love to commit suicide here

Then again, probably what the Police chief said does make sense. Regular, peace-loving buddhists in this country have mastered the art of self restraint, using a spotlight, a couple guns and some live rounds. Well if that's the case, be safe all ye motorists~!

The two-time MP and former Uthai Thani mayor has been acquitted in two murder cases in which he was accused of being the mastermind.

Wow.... the caliber of Thai national politicians (elected leaders) just keeps getting better and better!

Maybe the father should have ditched Parliament and applied to the BIB instead.

Getting rid of Thai politicians "gene-pool, the hard way.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Why was the 27 year old boy carrying a gun? Why did the 27 year old boy shoot at the people who eventually killed him?

And now the police is supporting the father (who was earlier acquitted of a double murder) by making this look like an "accident".

If you don't smell something fishy here you better get a life.

27 years old is not a boy, he is a soldier in dads private army training to be the eventual leader, and making his bones. This guy slipped up.

Good warning do not under any circumstances overtake a Thai driving a vehicle.

BP today says pick-up had only 2 occupants and shots fired from both vehicles (different calibres). Casings found on road and inside Prado driven by pol's son.

Also reports of headlight flashing and pick-up using rear facing driving light.

IMHO evolution theory in action.

Not one single westerner I know here carries a gun.

If you are acquainted with some that do, it may be time to change your social circle.

Bt50,000 reward offered for killers of MP's son

THE NATION

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: -- Police yesterday offered a reward of Bt50,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of suspects for the fatal shooting of an MP's son.

Nakhon Ratchasima police chief Pol Maj-General Ong-arj Phiewruangnon said police were still searching for a pickup that chased after the MP's vehicle.

Farut Thaiseth, a son of Chart Thai Pattana MP Chada Thaiseth, was killed in Nakhon Ratchasima early on Monday.

Police, who stand by their theory that the attack was triggered by road rage, say Farut was driving a Toyota Prado Land Cruiser while the attackers were in a pickup. The two vehicles took turns passing each other on a narrow roadway. Police Lt-General Phanu Kerdlarpphol, the commissioner of Provincial Police Bureau 3, said 10 witnesses had been interviewed.

Ong-arj said several teams of police had been dispatched to locate the pickup.

Pol Colonel Wachirawit Kritritthisak said there were at least two attackers - the driver of the pickup and a gunman.

Chada failed yesterday to bring in three friends of Farut, who were in the vehicle at the time of shooting. The MP had earlier said the three would meet police for interrogation yesterday.

Pol Lt-General Jarumporn Suramanee, assistant police commissioner-general, travelled to Nakhon Ratchasima's Pak Chong district to monitor progress of the investigation.

He travelled to Ban Klongdua village using the same route that Farut and Chada took. Jarumporn then went to the Moo 4 police station to get a briefing on the case.

He also watched footage from security cameras and held a meeting with investigators.

Jarumporn said police gathered 10 shell casings from two different 9mm pistols. Police also found casings from a .38 revolver in the Prado.

Evidence showed that shots were exchanged between the two vehicles over a distance of about 70 metres, he said.

Ballistics evidence found that the two shots that hit the Prado were fired from an angle that indicated the pickup was lower, which confirmed witnesses' statements that the vehicle was modified to have a lower height than ordinary pickups.

If this were road rage why has the father not brought in the key witnesses to his sons murder and then offers such a small amount of 50,000 baht reward?

Political heir. Father involved in two murder cases. Corruption accepted by 61 percent of uni students if in their favor. RIP to the son? Bugger off! It's just the next piece of Thai political mafia scum who would have been the same as his father.

Agreed. Forgive me if I feel absolutely no remorse. I actually feel more remorse for that hooker that got stabbed to death in a drunken, druggie rage.

These political bouts are no different than those stupid ignorant technical school morons killing each other in public view -- except those stupid ignorant technical school morons hurt more innocent bystanders and cause more collateral damage.

I believe you mean sadness.

'Remorse' would be if you DID the action and regretted it.

hey, leave it out. he's the ajarn here.

Hahaha

Chada is going to sort it himself so expect him to find shooters first.

It's too bad they missed, because we could do without a few more mafia boss MPs. But when you send a bunch of 3rd grade educated "assassins" to do a job, don't be surprised when it gets botched. (i.e. how the hell is PAD Sondhi alive after they shot up his SUV). We need some higher quality assassins in LOS...

Well I would have said that there were at least 2 attackers and they both had guns - one in each vehicle. Casings from a revolver found in the Prado indicate it was reloaded, so min. of 5 or 6 shots fired from that vehicle alone. Reluctance of passengers to come forward leads me to believe that one or more of them firing.
