Gps Information?

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a GPS unit for my car.

It has I-GO software installed which is not 100% correct, I think it is out of date?

Can anyone recommend some good software which can be updated online?

If you have Igo 8.3 or Igo Primo 9.6+ (latest is 9.6.5.221194 Feb 2012) installed, you have the best GPS system right now. Unfortunately, TomTom bought TeleAtlas 2 years back and there are position mistakes in the Thai map. Latest Thai map for Igo or Primo is the Q3 2011 map.

If installed on your GPS, stick with it, it is the best for now.

To check the version, go to "more", "help", "about" to get the software version.

Than "more", "content", "maps' to get the map version.

Hope this helps

HI, Many thanks for the information.

I have several questions!

How do i find "more" and also "help".

The system I have has Navigation as an option, along with "photo", "Music" etc.

When i click "navigation" i cannot find "More".

Also it has "Windows ME" but if i click that one it will not return to the menu?

Sorry if i am a little confused but "that comes with age" hahaha

If your system runs Igo (= older as now replaced by Igo Primo) do the following:

in the map-screen go to "menu", "settings", click arrow right down on the right han side of the screen (second settings page), "about" and you can see the Igo version and the date of it. Click "maps" at the bottom to check the map version.

Many thanks for all your help!

I have version 8.3 and the Thai map is 2009.03

So i guess that is what I have to accept.

No problem, my pleasure.

If your systems runs from a external memory (SD, Micro SD card or something like that) you can update the map for the newer version. Your map is 3 years old and you better change it for the newer one if you can.

Hope this helps.

The Thai map i have installed is 2009.03 and the software is 8.3.2.83157. I located the Igo Primo site but they do not support my GPS which is : Nav-N-Go iG08 8.3.2.83159 Apr 2009.

My GPS has a micro SD card but I am not sure where to obtain the newer maps?

You could try one of the shops in Icon Square or Computer City, north side of moat. These are the preferred IT shops for local students and prices are lower than Panthip Plaza.
