The food taste good, but the service is awful!

The waitresses have awful attitudes, the cooks use their bare hands when cooking everything (literally grab raw steaks, then make salads, then chop veggies. It was quite a scene.

Then not to mention the waitress got our order wrong and they kept trying to give us the extra meal. It ended in chaos.

Has anyone been there before?

I've wanted to try, but the place is always packed. Wife brought me a wurstpfanne (grilled sausages) as a takeout once, I wasn't impressed by that, just average.

It isn’t anything to write home about. I was just shocked about the service. They made another mistake on our bill, and while I looked over the menu to verify the second time around, she came over slapping her finger over the menu. I asked her to relax. She then proceeded to make a comment about me "not being able to see through my glasses”. We asked for the manager because of the level of her nasty attitude and she just continued with “I don’t give a f”. Of course no manager came and nothing was done about the nasty behavior. I also wrote them an email at their website and nothing. lol - not surprising.

Funny Thais never know English until they want to curse you out.

One often gets treated the same way one treats the other . . . . .

Next time, when you have a problem; just put on a big smile and THEN make your point . . . .in an 'as polite as possible' manner - I guarantee that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Please bear in mind that these people working at this particular venue are often rushed-of-their-feet and work their butts off, for very little reward. Hence; a smile will go a long way !

BTW; this place is extremely popular for the reasonable quality and the cheap prices . . . . it's always almost packed with happy "munchers".

Use this method for everything regardless of country and it gets things done.

I seem to remember that in some remote parts of the world baring your teeth is perceived as an hostile act. Here of course not, it's the generic mask you can hide hostility behind. The small muscles around the eyes are more difficult to control, so pay attention to them. If you need to fake it, push your fingernail into the palm of your hand and the pain will relax them. Or the standard bite your teeth together to move the strain to the temples, which is visible but at least you can claim being constipated.

One possibility of course is to shrug, take it as a lesson learned and never to return. That's my preferred course of action, as it is for many of the Thais I know.

I guess this is actually about "Took Lae Dee" restaurant in Foodland.

An update: I have been back a few times to buy some groceries....I have not seen the girl since. Yes the place is busy, cheap, but no one deserved the treatment she dished out that night. We have been here long enough, and honestly, some days you just get sick of the phony smiling that they have made us accustomed to doing. Its old, lame and flat-out annoying. People just aren't use to being put in their place in this world... any part of the world I mean.

This had nothing to do with a smile. One lady took down our order, and our food came out... plus an extra dish. We told them no about the extra dish and a random young lady came out of no where yelling that we ordered it. Later the original waitress fixed everything, we paid, but the cashier made a mistake on the total. This same rude girl came out throwing her fingers and attitude around. We never spoke to this girl and it was a young, foolish display on her part. Her coworkers were even ashamed and apologized for her behavior. As I mentioned in my recent post... she's hasn't been seen since.
