He deserves his seat alright, as he sold his soul to the devil.

Weng and Jatuporn were the ones that turned down Abhisit's proposal for early elections, just before the shit hit the proverbial fan!

Both have blood on their hands!

Be fair, the offer was a ruse and was subject to revocation. There was no guarantee that the military or the Democrats would have allowed the early election. Dr. Weng is a bit of a throwback to a different era, living a spartan lifestyle and having very conservative views, despite the label of "communist". He is very different than Mr. Jatuporn. I would offer that Mr. Jatuporn is more reflective of Thais than the low key Dr. Weng, who with his views on the sex trade, alcohol, drugs, debt and other such material excesses sends a chill down those with a preference for a more hedonistic lifestyle.

Hopefully, Mr. Jatuporn does not make it to cabinet, but then if one looks at other countries, one sees that it would not be unusual for such a person to obtain such a position. Examples are the members from diverse groups such as Sinn Fein, ANC, Malaya MPC and India's Congress Party.

We might be aghast or disapprove, but his inclusion in a cabinet would not be unusual.

I doubt PM Yingluck would want him in cabinet, but political considerations such as keeping him quiet and occupied might trump letting him remain unfettered in his political activity. I think he scares a lot of the PTP leadership who might prefer he just go away.

The only thing he deserves is a long jail sentence for trying to burn down Bangkok and starting a civil war.

No he deserves some higher position as he fought for his master who is the CEO of Thailand.

Funny how the tables have turned. Don't recall any of those sorts of circumspect, this is sadly the way it is, sentiments being expressed by you when Kasit got his seat. Seem to recall something more along the lines of outright disgust.

Be fair, you are stating unproven opinion as fact. Wouldn't it have been great for the nation if even in spite of reservations and concerns, the Reds had taken the Dems at their word, and had there been any backtracking, everyone would have seen it and sympathised with the Reds when they returned, as they would have been free to, to the streets? Or perhaps, just maybe, the Dems would have kept their word, and we would of had elections as promised, the Reds/PTP may well of won with their usual hollow populist promises, and duly returned their snouts to the trough, and no dead protesters, soldiers, journalists etc. How fantastic would that of been...

It was a two way thing. No, there was no guarantee that the military or the Democrats would have allowed the early election, but there was no guarantee that the reds would have allowed the Dems to campaign in red heartland. It required a leap of faith from BOTH sides. What a shame it wasn't given a chance, thanks to your square-faced friend....

It seems to be fairly common for some people to justify the questionable actions of others by pointing out that it was/is done elsewhere ny others, so it can/should be accepted.

Many of us used to try this argument with our parents when we were teenagers. My father told me once, " Try to use the best instead of the worst behavior as a comparason/goal and we can discuss it again"

First we have Thaksin referred to in the same breath and likened to retired President Madella and India's Ghandi and now Jataporn likening himself to Gengis and Alexandra.

The latter of course not comparable to the much respected and universally loved Nelson Mandella and Mahatma Ghandi.

Both Jataporn and his infamous mentor deserve nothing less than recognition and reward so let it happen.

Jail wiil be then become their home for many years to come, should the true wheels of justice be set in motion to decide on how much of a reward they will have rightly earned, measured in double digit years of incarceration if not more, should they live long enough.

Many of their coherts should be good company for them when also brought to justice they can all then reminice ?? about times gone by and their infamous evil achievements.

You read what you want to read. I stated that I hope he does not get a cabinet position. My sentiments are "not sadly the way it is". This is the reality, particularly when the man represents a significant part of the population. Bear in mind that Mr. Kasit's occupation of the airport directly harmed foreign nationals. Appointing the man as foreign minister after he inflicted pain and suffering on foreign nationals was hardly a stroke of genius. Whether you agree or not, Mr. Jatuporn's activities were directed at the Abhisit administration and were viewed by foreign governments as an internal matter. Mr. Jatuporn did not target foreign nationals nor did he hold them hostage as was the case of the PAD occupations which saw tens of thousands of foreigners involuntarily detained in Thailand. The redshirts did not target foreigners. That suggests to me that Mr. Jatuporn is alot smarter than Mr. Kasit. Mr. Kasit was rewarded with repeated rebuffs when he made overtures about the return of Mr. Thaksin. No one cared what Minister Kasit wanted.

Again, I do not think Mr. Jatuporn should be in the cabinet.

I believe Amazon.com has some old Electric Chairs (seats if you will) at bargin basement prices.

The only thing he needs to remember at ALL TIMES is not to forget to plug it in before he sits in it.

I think they made the old ones with a vibrator, so he should have great fun. coffee1.giftongue.pngbiggrin.pngsmile.pngwai.gif

Give him his Ministry seat-The Minister for Foreign Affairs-let the world see what's really going on in Thailand because diplomacy is not in his vocabulary,I'd love to see him revert to his screaming nutcase persona in the company of someone who really has some clout.

"I told supporters that the judicial process will lead to the Democrat government being penalised."

So he already knows the outcome? Either the judicial process has been interfered with to get the desired judgement or he has no idea how the judicial process works. I suppose it could be both actually.

He's got all the qualities needed for a cabinet post hasn't he?

Just like a quote from Alice in Wonderland ( or was it Alice through the looking glass?) From the Red Queen " Sentence first, verdict later"

What he truly deserves is at least twenty years in the Bangkok Hilton fed maggot soup daily. This guy has no remorse at all for helping to create hatred by his firey speeches to the reds for over two months leading many of them to their deaths. Scum comes to mind.

2 months?! This guy has been spreading hatred for more than 2 years. He has pulled the whole country into pieces.

More like 7 years. He and his Red Shirt mob have been spewing their rhetoric since he and the "choir boys" donned white for their PTV station that Jatuporn co-founded in 2005.

Amazing how frequently that old chestnut of early elections only being a "ruse" gets thrown out in a thread and requires the nonsense be put into perspective with reality-checking.

Thanks for doing so again, rixalex.

How about qualifications? What gives him the qualifications to have a cabinet seat besides having a big mouth?

Good question! The answer is that his qualifications were clearly visible when he was wearing a Ghandi T-shirt, and frequently had a PTV shoutcast with "we'll fight till the last drop of our blood", before surrendering 'peacefully' to the police with supporters still out there dying. Clearly, obviously [sic] he's cabinet position materiel bah.gif

You are back from a visa run?

In our case, we do not need to do a visa "run".

No my friend I am in the same boat. No visa run required. I though perhaps you were on one as we had not heard your defence of K. Jatuparn's narcissistic rant.

What I am trying to understand is that if he was given a seat would that increase or lower the overall standard of the Pheau Thai members?

Sent from my partners (now claimed as mine) IPad via the "Post" button cause I always want to be cool like those other posters via their toys...smilie...cause I am not cool enough to figure that out yet

You read what you want to read. I stated that I hope he does not get a cabinet position. My sentiments are "not sadly the way it is". This is the reality, particularly when the man represents a significant part of the population.

Until he stands in an election, you have no clue what proportion of the electorate he represents.

Mr. Kasit was rewarded with repeated rebuffs when he made overtures about the return of Mr. Thaksin. No one cared what Minister Kasit wanted.

Again, I do not think Mr. Jatuporn should be in the cabinet.

If you are going to play the game of "they are both inappropriate to be in government, but one is more inappropriate than the other and deserves more outrage" perhaps you should throw into the equation their qualifications and past work experience, and consider that at least Kasit was qualified and regardless of the pay-back-to-the-PAD element there undoubtedly was to his appointment, he still could have been appointed to that position on merit. What chance would Jatuporn have if cabinet positions were given based on merit?

Anyway, that's your game. For me i am on record as having expressed unreserved disgust at Kasit's appointment at the time, without a long list of contradictory justifications, and feel the exact same about Jatuporn.

It occurs to me to wonder, why is Jatuporn 'going public' like this with his desire to join the Cabinet, rather than making the customary 'shopping-trip' to visit influential people in Dubai or Hong Kong ?

Could it be that he's already done so, and isn't happy with the response he had received, so is now looking to deliver a more-public reminder of the service he has rendered ?

Or could this be a more-general hint from him & his fellow Red-Leaders to the PTP-government, that the Red-Shirts are getting restive, with a perceived lack-of-progress under the new regime ?

It may well be a crafty testing of reaction and if it,s not so bad, then proceed with it once the initial furore has died down.

I feel sure he is earmarked for some sort of ministerial post.

Time will tell but he would certainly compliment anything Chalerm has his evil fingers in ermm.gif hmmmmm

Re visiting Thaksin in one of his preferred safe places of abode, they will be in touch on a regular basis away from the public eye as the last thing they need is a confirmed link to there partnership as and when the hit-the-fan.gif .

He ticks all the right boxes. Fascist, terrorist, fat mouth, incapable of anything, never did an honest day's toll and worships the Shinawatra clan.

A latter day Guy Fawkes. One can only hope he meets the same fate
