Nothing is being done though and this is not a solution to the flooding problems. Its a feel good show that the Thai muppetment would love everyone to think is the solution though.

The SOS water treatment is not about preventing flooding. Saying that is solution to flooding is like saying a saline drip is the solution to road accidents. The NSacks cost 5 USD per bag - how realistic is it that they will ever be used? The Nanoparticles are not exactly proven to not enter the food chain through crops (even says so on their own website) and then all that rubbish about floating homes being designed? Might work in the Netherlands but here they would be built of untreated mdf because some somchai took a bung instead of buying proper materials.

One problem, with being a troll in Thailand, would be that they get flooded out from under their bridges, so often ? rolleyes.gif

But most of us who post here love the country, and its interesting ways, most of the time ! smile.png

Thanks for the education there Rickster. As is often the case with those who accuse others of being a troll, they will jump up and down a little, make a post such as the one above that has no relevance to the thread in hand, not talk about or address the issue that the premise of the thread is basically wrong or ill thought out, and think that they will get lots of support from other members due to the reputation of the member they have set their sights on. You did miss a trick though because usually these types of replies finish with "If you don't like it, go home" saai.gif

I cordially invite you to add a little more substance though. I watched the link. Did you? I thought having read the title is was going to be a view of the flood prevention works being carried out but no! Instead we see a news story from last year about nanoparticles used to clean flood water and make it drinkable which is actually not a proven safe method of clearing water (as suggested by myself), then a nice thing about gel sand bags which is a great idea, certainly not knew, but certainly too expensive for Thailand to use. They also suggest that they are re-usable which is true to the extent that once they are filled with water and the gel expands you can keep on using them, but they need to be stored that way; they will not dry out, return to powder, to be filled again in the future as the article leads you to believe. Lastly there is a typical pie in the sky piece showing lots of starwars style houses which thailands best architects have been designing as a potential solution to houses being knackered by flooding. Pie in the sky.

This is what I see that piece to be, and certainly has nothing to do with being the "Thailand Flooding Solution" as the title and thread suggests it to be.
