I have the TF700t and use currently Google Chrome (but could use a different one).

It works well and never crashed. But on the PC I have my bookmarks at firefox, several hundreds, how to import them and how to use them efficient, never saw something to touch for bookmarks.

Second: I am used to read the front page of my online newspaper and open all interesting links in new tabs. Than I read all the tabs. Is there a kind of "open in new tab" function?

I use Dolphin browser. Very easy, fast and stable

Much better than Firefox for Android. It can import your bookmarks from Firefox, and also claims to sync them, but in the early days synchronising caused problems and messed up my bookmark folders on the PC so all I do is import them and then either update manually as required or do a reimport. I have not been brave enough to see if the synchronisation issues have been fixed.

p.s. It supports tabs and has great gesture support which is well worth the time to get familiar with

works great! How do you guys know these things?

By the way: how do I bring my Firefox bookmarks into Dolphin?

First Appologies.

Previously I used an add-on which I think was called Firefox Sync, but I can no longer find that add-on in the app store. Thus the delay in answering

However having recently bought a new Galaxy Tab2 (I decided not to wait for the Note 10.1), one of the things on my to do list was to get my bookmarks from Firefox on to the device.

I found this solution

  1. On your phone / tab install the Dolphn Add-on Bookmarks to SD
  2. Export your dolphin Bookmarks to ensure it is working and to find where the stupid program puts the files. (It neither asks nor tells you where it is creating the export) I found it created a file called Bookmarks.html on my SD card in a folder called TunneyBrowser/Bookmarks
  3. On Firefox on your PC go to Bookmarks, show all Bookmarks, Import and backup, and then select Export to HTML
  4. Save the file on your PC (I called Mine Firefox.html)
  5. Transfer the file from your PC to the same location on your phone as the test Export to SD
  6. Use the Export to SD programme to import your desktop bookmarks file (it may take a while)
  7. NOTE If you rename your file to be the same as the original Export I BELIEVE it will overwrite the original Dolphin bookmarks, else it will keep the original and add the new ones. Your Choice.
  8. Done

I found all my bookmarks in folders in the Dolphin browser HOWVER My bookmarks on my PC are divided in to many folders. The programme had created all these folders as sub flders of my first folder, so I have some re-organising to do, but they are there.

I did find other methods suggested on the net such as exporting your bookmarks to Chrome and then to Dolpin using a programme called Xmarks but as I do not have Chrome installed it was not my first choice to try

Hope this helps and thanks to you I have one less task to do on my Tab!!!

I love Firefox for Windows, and Dolphin for Android.

But when I need to have PC-Android synced bookmarks I give up with Dolphin as I often change Firefox bookmarks so I use Chrome on Windows and Android with log in, its automatic. Chrome also reads all Firefox bookmarks in one go.

Chrome has tabs and Bookmark sync, as well as "Chrome2Phone".

I use Opera Next as my daily browser, which lets you add your favourite sites to Speed Dial and also supports tabs.

On Chrome, I couldn't figure out how to use the bookmarks blink.png

(calling me stupid is accepted blink.png)

On Firefox (PC) I have that bookmark button....

One way to use your FF bookmarks elsewhere is to go into your settings directory and there will be an html file of your bookmarks, written out when close FF. I can't recall if this is done by default or somewhere I enabled FF to do this (if I did it's been so long since I can't recall, and the instructions will be on the net).

You can now take this html file and copy it to any other device and open it like any other html page. I'd suggest using it on your Android device as the browser's homepage, that's what I do.

I have a few browsers on my tablet. The main extraneous thing I want from a browser is the ability to save pages and then be able to access them when I'm offline. I have a few installed, but have yet to put them through their paces. Currently installed:

Maxthon

Dolphin

UCbrowser

there's one called simply Browser, I think it came with the thing

A bit uncomfortable with my hundreds of links, but maybe not, if I just bookmark the 5-10 most used pages and use that html file only in the rare cases I really need it. As in 99% I use just a few pages....

Thanks good idea

Safer way to save your bookmarks in HTML format without searching for your profile directory and that is to hit CTRL+Shift+B which brings up all bookmarks then you can export them all to an HTML file.
