Data Plan For Ais And True..........

Featured Replies

I understand both the above networks have good signal strength in Bangkok Central.

Can someone give me a link perhaps to check out cost of data unlimited or otherwise of those Networks ??

Thanks.

No one........??

Have found another site which appears to list Trues packages but very unclear what you get for what....??

True's website is a disaster, with no English at all on the 3G packages page. Another member already ended up getting a 3Gb package thinking it was unlimited (with fair use speed reduction after 3Gb) and ended up losing all his credit after the 3Gb was up...wrong package...

Everything for One2call is here:

Googling will lead you to the AIS, True, and DTAC websites pretty fast....then it's a matter of selecting their English language pages/using Google Translate. I'll be the first to admit you won't be overly impressed with their English websites in terms of fully explaining their plans in clear English....some pages are graphics based and Google Translate can't translate them....and you probably notice without understanding a word of Thai that by comparing the Thai and English pages that a person quickly figures out there sure appears to be more info and plans on the Thai language pages...almost like the English language pages pick and choose what they want to advertise.

However, if you go to this True web site and download their latest "Key Promotions" file it provides a pretty clear overview in English PowerPoint format of their phone, television, internet, etc., promotions/plans. Link.

I don't use True phone/3G services so I can't speak to how good or bad the service is...just passing along the link.

True's site is indeed a nightmare............

Why dont they use the tried and tested KISS principle to which every successful website observes......

True's Thai language pages are probably informative and accurate; but since Thailand is weak in English skills True's English pages are also weak.. I think they want to rely on Google Translate. Unfortunately, Google Translate doesn't do a very good job in translating Thai to English in many cases and graphics-based pages can't be translated by Google Translate.

649 TBH gets you 3 GB incl. unlimited wifi per month on the True H network, 349 gets you 1 GB but wifi is extra. Solid signal in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, not much experience elsewhere.

Most relevant pages of True are totally untranslatable as they are jpeg images.

No problem as long as there is an English version, but not there on True-h.

Considering that pre paid 3G is nowadays almost an absolute requirement for modern travelers, business or otherwise, means that this unavailabity is an unexcusable marketing mess up...

And their service centers are even worse then their website...

FWIW, TrueMove (H) has always been in 3rd place (last) with regards to nearly every metric, and is still trying escape the cellar position from years of choosing to be the "economy" brand. It doesn't help that it is an extremely poorly managed company. ;) They used to have many English web pages but in the past year have merged into True web-pages, which are almost entirely in Thai and graphically-oriented so not Google-translatable. True is part of CP so somewhat different from AIS and DTAC - and as such they are used to having unfettered access to markets (no competition). ;)

What make/model phone do you have? Please be very specific. Any budget? Estimated data usage?
