Real Time Tracking Of Flights

Featured Replies

Came across an article in the online UK Daily Mail which focused on this website:

Flightradar24.com

It appears to give details, in realtime, of flights worldwide.

Can't vouch for it's accuracy but, after a brief review, was well impressed.

It may be of interest to any anoraks out there!

There is also:

http://flightaware.com/

which is sometimes incorrect.

Flightradar is better, I've found Airports in the wring timezone in flightaware. eg Broken hill in Australia, which I informed them about.

Another one if flightstats.com

I use Flightaware, I like the Schedules Delayed/On-time history but I also like listening to ATC

http://www.futurastudios.com/atc.html or

http://www.liveatc.net/

You are listening to:

KORD Chicago Approach - Chicago, Illinois, United States

http://www.liveatc.n...d_app&icao=kord

Warning! And for those who can handle last word conversations of plane crashes look here:

This is brilliant. http://www.flightradar24.com//t_blank

Click on any aircraft in the map. Then cockpit view on the left of the screen. Takes about a minute. I watched a landing at Swampy.

I have been using www.flightstats.com for years tracking flights and delays, constant failures by airlines to meet schedules on the route etc. Always accurate and easy to navigate.

Mosha, when I double clicked an aircraft icon, another screen came up which did say cockpit view of XXX flight, at the top but the screen had Google Earth in the center, saying I had to install Google Earth Plugin, which I did, then restarted IE. I keep getting the same thing though. Did you see the same but after 5 minutes, video came up?

I have been using flightradar24 for years now, although Suvarnabhumi has only been added a couple of months ago. Used it

for arrivals/departures Middle-East and Europe.

Didn't know about the cockpit view button.

Thanks for that !

I use FireFox. I've had no problems with it.

Oh dear Oh dear and I didnt spend enough time on the computer already........... Just followed a Singapore A380 out of LHR, amazing.

If only ATC worked, and other aircraft could be seen. Some genius would find away to port it in to M$ Flightsim lol.

Hi Mosha

Brilliant, except I use Firefox and can't get the cockpit view when I click on the appropriate button.

Screendumps attached.

Any suggestions?

Sent a message to FlightRadar24 and was told, via FAQ's, to delete my current version of Google Earth and install the latest version.

Been there, done it - no success.

Awaiting further suggestions from FlightRadar24

I just added three of these sites to the pinned topics.

Thanks!!

Try "Flight Track free".

You can identify the flight number by entering the "from & to" locations and selecting the actual flight from a list of all current/upcoming flights that meet that criteria.

Once selected, you see the photo realistic plane flying over an excellent, zoomable Google satellite map, with the towns and coutries etc clearly labelled.

Below the map, it shows the flight number, the departure and ETA, together with the minutes early/late at each end.

Brill! What more could you want/need.

Cheers!

If you want to listen to ATC, give www.liveatc.net a try..

Over in the Plane Spotting - the quiz Thread ... I used the Flight Radar 24 to identify the flights as they arrived.
