Motorcycle Ss Pipe Welding Shop

Featured Replies

I see that the old welding shop that built and repaired stainless steel pipes has moved or closed. It used to be north of the northeast corner of the moat right on that smelly canal. Anyone know where they went or can point me toward a shop that can weld stainless steel exhaust pipes?

Cracked Tsukigi? This is the shop i go to http://goo.gl/maps/6LdKz 300-400 baht

He uses an arc welder with SS electrodes, i tried oxycetylene once but it didn't hold, the arc weld has never broken again. You can use regular electrodes and it will still weld together, it'll just be really ugly but cheaper at a regular muffler shop...about 100 baht.

He might remove the pipe, in my case i just told him to weld it while it was on the bike. Welds wouldve looked better if the pipe was off.

You'll have to remove the battery terminals before he can weld. Ive also gotten the catalytic convertor on a Ninja 250 removed at this shop after showing him how to do it.

Thanks KRS1... I'll give those guys a shot. The pipe is off the bike after the third weld cracked. It is a cheap pipe from Faddy but it looks and works well. Just won't stay together as the original welds have NO penetration. I should have had the old shop do them all after the second weld broke as their welds were beautiful and strong. 20-20 hindsight now however.

Will do. Thanks.

KRS1.... Hmmm, ugly welds. The old shop used a TIG machine so they were quite nice. Appreciate the warning.

Its Glon Daeng Pratu

Heading West towards Airport Plaza from the the river it is down the last soi on the left before the overpass that takes you onto Mahidol Rd.

The owner is into his bikes and they have Mig/Tig and Arc.

They do great stainless pipes for any bikes, and their Dunstall reverse cone megaphones are superb.

Anyone would think I had shares in the place!

They can also replace vehicle rubber weatherseals, always see 4x4 guys there.

Thanks justcruisin, will check out Glon Daeng Pratu for a custom pipe for my CBR 250.

Nothing yet on the bike forum for anything less than stupid money....

No biggie but I think it is Daeng Glong Pratu. Talk to Dang, he has two shops and is usually around that one in the morning. Think it is what looks like a soi but is a private drive way just before (next to) the Ricoh Shop.

That is a confusing area to find anything in, so thanks for the extra info.
