Popular Post beb
A recent thread on budget places ( ) to eat got me putting together a map for myself to find and visit the various suggestions. I thought I'd share here. http://goo.gl/maps/S8HSn I've tried to position the locations so that street view will show the place but I haven't been to many and may be off a little. And the comments can be mine or comments from others that I grabbed from. Most of these places are local thai joints with prices typically under 50 baht. I love thai food and am always looking for a new place to try. I hope this is helpful to others. If you want to suggest another place, just leave a map link and I'll include it.

Rob8891
Thanks for all your effort, beb. I had seen a pdf booklet "Where to eat in BKK for less than $1", but IMHO, this is a far better approach. You now share the blame (with LawrenceChee) for screwing up my weight-loss efforts.... Please note though that coordinates as provided are not as accurate as map links. I think they establish the point on the road and not the specific location of the place. For instance, the image you provided of Khaw man kai is not at the coordinates. I assume it is somewhere close.

It's another legendary place of CM. I've known this place for over 30 years and never seen a single farang eat there! The place is open from around 1700 to early morning. 18.788972,98.999114 Edited September 21, 2012 by ARISTIDE

ARISTIDE
I hate to trouble you but there is a very good BBQ Northern Thai sausage (Sai-our) stall in "Mae Here Market" 100g of bbq sausage for only 25 bath. Another 10 bath for rice then it's a complete meal Thai style. Owner of this place doesn't smile a lot when I got there because there were too many customers! 18.747816,98.941404 Hmm, Aristide, I thought I'd included everything. Can you let me know if anything is missing and I'll add it. Thanks. No trouble at all Aristide. I'm happy to be able to add more so I can check out places I don't know. Please send me more! There is one thing that I think would work better though and that is if you could pull up the location on google maps and look at it in street view, then get the link and send that. I think you get your coordinates from a gps unit and those are taken in the street so when I add the link, it shows up as in the middle of the street and can be difficult to know exactly where the location is (plus gps coordinates have a certain amount of possible error that adds to confusion). The map link or coordinates gathered from the map at the exact shop location really help. I know it is an extra step but it would help me in making sure I post accurate data. Thanks!
