Russian Resident goes berserk at his Jomtien apartment

PATTAYA:--A Russian Resident at the Majestic Condo in Jomtien was arrested by Police on Friday afternoon, for his own safety, after he was seen throwing items over his 3rd floor balcony and was in the process of destroying furniture inside his apartment.

Police made their way cautiously to the 3rd floor and encountered Mr. Yan Titov aged 31 who had barracaded himself inside his apartment but eventually decided to come out and confronted Police in the corridor who fought with the man for a time before chaffing him and taking him away to the Police Station. There was a strong suspicion he was under the influence of a narcotic but this has yet to be confirmed.

He was known to live with his Thai Girlfriend who was known to have left him 2 days ago.

Or of course he could be working somewhere else and taking his time off in Pattaya, ie someone who work ships or oil & gas, there is nothing in the article which suggests what he is doing in Pattaya.

In the absence of any other info, has the guy concerned any less right to be in Pattaya than the OAPS as has been suggested ?...he has every right to be here, it really gets up my nose at times at the sense of self-entitlement some farangs have in Thailand, believing they have more right to be here than someone else

You never know, one day Thailand may change the rules and not allow retirement here as in common in a lot countries or if it is allowed, financial requirements are signifcantly increased...then where will a lot of the pensioners be ?

I am awaiting for the reponses saying Thailand will never do that, we support the ecomomy etc etc...

A lot of hard graft, guts and some luck to make something, but it worked out fine in the end. Mind you makes me look more like 50 now
