I will go to Division1 Government Center Bangkok on Thursday this week for my first one year extention of stay, I also plan to get another muliple entry stamp. I have filled out the Extension of Temporary Stay TM7 Form. I also filled out the Application For Re-enty Permit Form TM8 (Question: Was that necessary or do I just pay the 3,800 THB?). I am also wondering if when I go to get my queue card if they will take both the Extension of Stay and the Re-enty paperwork at the same time of will I have to do one and then go get another queue card to do the other? All of the other paperwork is taken care of; photos to adhere, Passport page copies, Departure Card TM6 copy? (Not sure if needed.) Bank book copies and letter of income or that the 800,000 THB has matured in the bank since November 2011 and a copy of my apartment rental contract. (Not sure if needed either)My biggest concern is about the queue card procedure at immigration Division 1 at the Government Center in Bangkok. I sure would appreciate any and all replies, thank you in advance and I love the Thai Visa Forum. wai.gif

A re-entry permit is only needed if you plan to leave the country. In case you need it, you do need to fill out the form and go for the re-entry permit desk after having recieved your extension of stay.

I know I will leave at least a couple of times next year so I do need to go to the re-enty permit desk, question is will I need a new queue card to do this or is it just a walk up to counter? I am not very close to the Government Center and getting there is a hassle so instead of waiting until I need to leave I would prefer the one stop shopping deal and also if it is an emergency I would like to get out as fast as possible. Thanks again.

Maybe the topic heading should be changed to read Non-immigrant extension and multiple re-entry permits, as reading it now it sounds like an multi entry extension which is not available

I think that you are also able to purchase a Re-entry permit at Immigration at the airport during office hours only, up until 4 or 5p.m. for a little more money 1,200 single and 4,000 multiple?

I agree perhaps it does and I would change it but not sure how to, it seems shortly after I post threads I lose the ability to edit them.

You must get the retirement extension of stay first. Once you have the new extension of stay, put that updated info on the TM8 Reentry Permit form and go get a queue ticket for the Reentry permit. The Extension of Stay and Exit/Reentry Permits are handled by different sections and different queue tickets are handled out.

If you got both queue tickets at the same time, the Reentry Permit section would probably call your queue number before the retirement extension section called your queue number/completed your retirement extension of stay. Since you need the extension of stay processed first you are probably setting in that section and don't even hear/see your queue ticket called for the reentry permit...and even if you did here them call your reentry permit queue ticket you don't have your extension of stay approved yet which is needed to base your reentry permit on.

Thank you very much.
