I have seen you on a "local" forum. I did notice that your prices are a bit high, especially when compared to the other guy that sells much the same stuff on the same forum.

Hi Joepai. We are a registered company, and are licensed by the local Tessaban office for health and hygiene. This allows us to produce and store fresh and frozen food. We are currently looking into FDA procedures.

The prices we charge are what we feel is fair for our products. I can't comment on the other guy, but we have a store and a small team of workers so I doubt our over heads are the same.

We use the highest quality ingredients available which can mean some products are a little more expensive than some available but we believe all our products are good value.

Thanks for your interest puchooay.

I've been going to Korat chef for a while and I was even lucky enough to have a quick guided tour before they opened up, they have invested quite of lot of time and effort, not to mention money in setting up a professional kitchen, the guys are really passionate about food, and they use the best quality ingredients which might mean they're a little bit more expensive, but the taste you get is well worth an extra 5-10 baht :)

I haven't actually bought anything from NB yet, however I've tried a few things at mates houses and they are ok, but I don't really think its the same thing, I believe he buys he stuff from Pattaya/Bangkok and sells it on up here, great for getting hold of ingredients and hard to find items, but he is essentially a retailer/wholesaler, whereas Korat chef make their own products from scratch. I wish both of them good luck because they are both providing a great service.

All of the food I've had from Korat chef has been top notch! The sausages are amazing, Italian/Lincolnshire being my favourites! they are essentially the same as the 'finest/taste the difference' sausages you'd buy from a Tesco =D

The lasagne is beautiful perfect with a plate of chips! Proper Indian curries with Naan bread! Fresh bread is a must.

Since they opened up the shop they've been doing cakes and deserts, which have been doing very well with the Thais, because they aren't very many places in korat or Thailand that can make a 'real' cheesecake etc. the Thai cakes normally look great but taste awful!

If you haven't tried Korat chef yet then you're missing out on some really good western food

I bought some bacon last night so I'm going to have a bacon and egg sandwich shortly and will report back :)

Glad you liked the bacon Sushi, and thanks for the positive feedback. We are just about to release our latest product - Black Pudding.

We are near the end of the testing period and it should be ready for sale in the next few days.

I'll keep you posted.

Seems I'll have to be more careful with my punctuation, or we may end up with all kinds of strange dishes. ;)

I just tried thier homemade Black Pudding it was really very good indeed. I make my own bacon and its not bad, its the same as you can buy from most of the suppliers in BKK and Pattaya. Korat Chef's bacon however is much better, as they use a technique that takes much longer. The results produce a much more succulant rash of bacon. With regards to price, you get what you pay for. They pride themselves on the quality of the ingrediants they use and the final product. I have no doubt this venture will survive.

We've been asked about deliveries to other provinces. See below for details:

For delivery between provinces we usually use the private bus companies.

Orders would be packed in an insulated foam box with dry ice. That would keep it chilled for at least 12hrs.

The cost for delivery would depend on how many foam boxes you needed, how much dry ice and the cost of the bus journey.

We are located in Nakhon Ratchasima, and buses travel extensively throughout North East, North, Central and some Southern provinces.

The foam boxes range in price from 65 to 120 baht each, and dry ice is 35 baht a package.

For example an order of around 2,000 baht would usually fit in one box. So 2,000 baht for the products and around 200 baht for delivery. That's just an estimate though.

You would then need to pick up your parcel from the bus station. They usually just ask to see some ID to allow collection.

Any questions, please feel free to ask.

Regards,

Korat Chef

I've just been up to visit my friend in Korat and he took me round to Korat Chef and persuaded me to buy some bits to bring back to Bangkok (I wasn't too keen because I usually eat out).

I bought a Stronganoff, a Curry Pie, a Pork Pie, another pie, and a pizza. As Janice from Friends would say - "OH... MY... GODDDDDDDDDDD".

The food is absolutely amazing and I wish I'd bought more. What's more, the whole lot cost about 575 baht which for a Bangkok-smog-dweller like me, is cheap as chips. It was plenty for lunch and dinner for two.

If you're in Korat do check out these guys' food. If you're not, look into delivery as I'm going to. Definitely the best British food I've tasted in Thailand.

:)))))
