So, we are traveling to Thailand pretty soon now and we want to visit a theme park with the biggest rides (rollercoasters). After searching the internet, I came across three interesting parks

1) Dream World

2) Siam Park City

Which one do we go for?

Also how much do these parks and the rides cost?

Thanks

dream world is good. We spent most of the day in the pool area. It is an expensive day out though, even compared going to thorpe park in the uk. Prices etc are all on the web.

I have been to Siam Park City 2 times, the last time 2 years ago. Both times were on a weekday, with part of the attractions closed, and the other part had to startup for us. So I liked it because it was very, very quiet and we could do what we liked. I think we must have been very, very lucky, and would not like to be there on a busy day.

Oh, forgot. The decorations of the attractions are done with no attention to detail, and by the looks of it the rides seem to be a bit clumsy. In most countries I have done rides without any hesitation, here I have done with with hesitations.

I went to dream world a couple years back an it is not worth the time, effort and money.

They had one roller coaster and pay as you go go karts, other than that, not much

Add the higher pricing for farangs and I will never return there.

Funny I just checked siam park city web site

Here is link for pricing

http://www.siamparkcity.com/en/ticket_price_day.php

Says 900 for 1 day pass

But if you then click on "thai" flag you will see they have added a link for

Thai speaking people where you can order tickets in advance and you

only pay 500 Thai baht ...

I really wonder if a farang can use this link and save 400 TH

We went there a few years ago and i remember that they wanted to give me the falung "discount" ticket but then one of the girls on the gate told us if we buy a family ticket the falung price doesn't apply and we all got in for the family ticket price ( so Falung and Thai wife/husband plus kids get in on the same ticket price as Thai /Thai plus kids price). Can't remember exact price but it was a lot cheaper than buying individual tickets. The family ticket was about the same price they wanted for my ticket alone. It wasn't written anywhere that we could see and perhaps the girl was doing us a good turn but it is a loop hole there. . And the family ticket included free rides but the maintenance and safety of the rides looked a bit dubious. The swimming pools were great and the day was really enjoyed by all of us.

So we will visit Siam Park City then. Thanks.

The buffet lunch is good if you are offered it with the family ticket price, worth including, we filled a day no problem at Siam this spring, just bought an all in ticket with every ride free, good value at around 2700 baht including the lunch, 2 adults 2 children, all sorted at the VIP counter

If you bring kids remember there is a hight demand attached to each attraction.

Many attractions demand a hight of 130 cm as min.

Roller coasters 130 or 140 cm as min - can't remember exactly.

I where in both parks last year with my 7 year old daughter, and she was only able to try very few things as she was just under 130 cm.

Kids in a park, with a 130/140cm limit, in a land with an average height of ~160 cm for adults?

Sounds like a successful scam, to me!
