I intend to start manufacturing leather bags for export purpose. For that I would need to buy leather pieces and find a worshop to sew them according to my designs.Could anybody tell me if there are sources of good quality leather in chiang mai, and also if workshops like this are easy to find. Is leather prices compared to Bangkok are reasonable?

if you have any knowledge of the above, could you direct me to the right places?

From the information that I have gathered most leather is wholesaled somewhere around the Chinatown market area in Bangkok. I have been trying to locate tanners, but so far have come up with nothing.

There are a number of shops off of the Warrorot market area in Chiang Mai selling leather hides, but I am not sure "how" wholesale they are.

Tanning factories are located in samut prakan down around bkk for the large orders.
