Non-O Based On Children Renew

Hi i have a 12 mounths visa "Non Imigrant -o multi" based on that i have a doughter here in Thailand.

I get my visa in Sweden at the thai ambassade,

I did not need to show any money at all . or any papper on my money.

The only thing i show was my DNA Papper from Thailand and my passport.

I am not merried whit the babys mom

I am 35 years old so i can not report to imigration, i need to do border run every 3 mounths.

In december the 12 will my visa expire.

I think that was my information so now to the qustien.

Do i need to go back to sweden and renew my visa or can i do it here in Thailand or some country near. I know i can get it easy in sweden whitout bank account or any other papper just my DNA Papper... Can i do the same here or where can i go????

You have wto options:

1. get a new multiple non-O visa in savanakhet, Laos. (You might only get a single). You will need DNA proof and birth certificate and preferably a little note from the mother confirming your relationship and that you are taking care of the child.

2. Go to court and be recognised as the legal father of the child, if you didn't do that already. It should take a few months, but otherwise will not be difficult with DNA proof and agreement from the mother.

With you being the lagal father you cna get yearly extensions of stay if you can show 40,000 a month income (before tax and can be from abroad) OR have at least 400,000 baht in a bank account in Thailand in your name.

i thought that they had stopped issuing non -o visas unless you were married to the mother or had legal father status ?

also if the guys visa ends in december i think he can do a visa run just before it expires and get another 3 months on top of the 12 months making a total of 15 months ?

also you can extend 60 days by showing the birth certificate so maybe you can get 5 months after december,

you should have enough time to get a court order made to become legal father if you act soon.

once you have legal father document you can extend 1 year at a time - much better if you want to live in thailand a long time.

The birth certificate alone is no longer enough, but he has DNA proof, which probably makes all the differences.

Hi all, for info, as I tried to get an non O (divorced the mother) at Cheang Wattana, they request me to get half of my daughter custody in court and then can apply for a one year visa.

I know I can get a new 1 year visa in Sweden whit my DNA papper... but if I can fix that here it will be much more easy for me...in Sweden I only need to show the birtcertficate and my DNA... no money or anything else... can I do the same here inside Thailand or do I need to go home and do it

You obtain a visa without paying? Or suspect you mean you do not have to show 400k in bank account? No you can not extend without show of financials (inside Thailand) and it is very unlikely a Consulate will issue more than a single entry visa (as you are expected to extend your stay inside Thailand if a parent of a Thai).

(5) In the case of a parent, one of parents must have an average

annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a

money deposit of not less than 400,000 baht for expenses within

a year.

are you sure they will issue another visa in sweden because your last one was 10 months ago and they have changed the criteria since then,

the best option is to do another border run and then extend 2 months making a total of 17 months from your original visa, with the time you have goto court and become legal father then you'll be able to simply extend 1 year at a time for 1900 baht a year with no need for border runs etc, you only need to show money in a thai bank whilst your applying for the yearly extension.

For the OP, please make the distinction between Visa (The right to enter Thailand) and permit/extension of stay (The right to stay in Thailand). Take a look at your passport and you'll see both of them. A Visa is applied for outside Thailand, the extension within.

I'm on a 1y marriage extension, which required 400t on the account for at least 2 months before applying (some immigrations claim 3months), the rules are here: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/doc/temporarystay/policy777-2551_en.pdf

Regarding this thread, I'm now the legal father of a Thai child, and was wondering if the seasoning requirement for the 400t is still zero days, ie. I could now transfer the money to my account only days before applying ?

Based on a Thai child the seasoning is not required, but if married check first with your immirgaiton office if they are willing to extend based on your child and not the wife.

when did you get this visa ? was it december 2011 ?

what is the enter before or utilize before date written on it ?

about 6 months ago most of the thai consulates around the world started making it harder to get a 1 year multi type - O visa , maybe sweden one has changed also ? i would recommend you talk to them first.

at present you can extend your current visa inside thailand but you will only get an extra 60 days - if you become legal father by either marrying the mother or going to court and getting a document made you can extend an extra 1 year.

you say your current visa ends in december but have you got the maximum out of it because you can get 15 months out of a 12 month visa by doing an extra border run just before it expires and get an extra 3 months stay.

It's quite unclear when reading many threads.

So now I know that it it possible to extend 1 year non-immigrant visa based on Thai child (but no wife) if 400k in bank.

Otherwise need to apply for non-o every 3 months because they do not issue multiple non-o in Laos ?

Most consulates will only issue single entry - if actually taking care of child you are expected to extend using the 400k or 40k income provisions. If these are not open to you ed extensions for study might be an alternative. Suspect many would be here working so could extend on that basis.
