krading
I've just sent some money to my Thai account and as per usual I selected 'send Aussie dollars' as I had heard ages ago that this was the way to get a better exchange rate. However, this time a message popped up telling me, "Pleased be advised that selection of the local currency may reduce overseas bank charges and processing time" Has something changed in the way the system now operates? PCA
That is a try to lure you into the conversion done by your local bank which of course translates to getting the shitty rate they are selling the baht at. No way you should select that. Really ridicilous those fxxxg banks.
bdenner
Try using both methods sending 1/2 the amount on each and let us know the outcome. I'm sure you will find @PCA is correct, the effin CBA is trying it on you/us. (I use NetBank as well!)
krading
I'm still in Oz for a couple of more weeks so I'll go to the bank and front them on it before I send anymore. Shonky b@stards.
saroq
Let us know the outcome. It would be interesting find out if there is any significant difference in either choice.
Pib
"Pleased be advised that selection of the local currency may reduce overseas bank charges and processing time" Or said a more truthful way: Please be advised that selection of the local currency will increase the fees we can collect.
