Can anyone enelighten me as far as the purpose of the Tourist-Police is concerned? Do they cater to the interests of tourists, or is their goal to assist Thai-Police to help isolate some "bad Farang Tourists" from the rest?

In real life: To what sort of police would the average tourist turn to, in case of a hired "Hostess" that shows not much interest to perform her duties as a "hostess" and spends her time at any given hotel-room mostly by grooming herself and then goes to sleep for the rest of the night, and come morning, she wants to be reimbursed royally for sevices not performed.

More often than not, if the Farang is not agreeable to pay for services not performed, the "Hostess" will threaten to "call the Police" !?!

So, returning to the topic, what kind of Police would the Farang have to approach, to counteract. Probably none, because the "Hostess" would certainly claim that she has performed according to prior agreement. With (usually) no witnesses around, the Farang would have a hard stand to prove otherwise.

But still: I do realise that the the old days where a Hostess would "take care of you" for days and in the end was compensated at a fair and favorable rate to her advantage , are gone.

Now it seems we have to deal with another scenario: Get as much out of a customer while doing as little as possible. (Kill the goose that lays the golden eggs) .

- Is it any wonder, that under such circumstances, young european males prefer to go to places like Kroatia, Hungary, Czech-Republic, etc etc for the same purpose. (1 to 2 hours away by airplane as opposed to 10 to 12 hours travelling to Thailand).

Cheers.

I think their primary function is not to help out people engaging in illegal activities. I really hope those young european males catch on to the new opportunities much closer to home.

18) Not to discuss the specifics of prostitution.Thailand has a visible sex industry, and acknowledgment of that fact is not forbidden. However ThaiVisa is not the place to seek or give information on this topic, regardless of your sexual habits, preferences or orientation.
