Navy Sailor killed in early morning road crash in Jomtien

Pattaya:-- A member of the Thai Navy was killed and a second was seriously injured in an early morning road crash on the Sukhumvit Road in Jomtien on Thursday.

Police and rescue services were called to Soi Watboon where it intersects with the main Sukhumvit Road and determined the driver of a Blue Honda Wave motorbike, known to be a member of the Thai Navy, was killed and the passenger, named as Petty Officer First Class Jakkapan aged 25, was seriously injured. He was rushed to Hospital for treatment while Police investigated the cause of the crash which was seen by no one.

Police suspect a second vehicle may have been involved and the impact zone suggested the motorbike was turning, at speed, into the side road when the crash occurred. Toxicology exams are taking place on the deceased man to determine if he was intoxicated
