Route 11

Featured Replies

Hi

The GF and I are just back from a visit to her folks, up near Phichit and I'm happy to say that Route 11, which branches off Route 32 near In Buri, no longer qualifies as possibly Thailand's most undriveable road (as far as Phichit anyway; can't say anything about further north). Over the last six months, or so, a lot of resurfacing work has been carried out and some long stretches have been remade completely. Other parts have been repaired quite well and there are no longer any truly awful bits. Some work is still in progress.

Still seems smoother travelling northwards, rather than southwards, though, although this might just be a change in perception brought about by watching rice grow for a few days! Traffic on this route seems to be quite light so, hopefully, the trucks won't tear up the new surface too quickly.
