Me and my girlfriend are going to phuket in may, was wondering if she would be ok to swim in her jeans and shirt in the hotel pool as she gets burnt quite easy. Thanks.

I burnt very badly the first day in LOS,it could have been the spray from the jet ski washed it off but i think i didnt have enough factor on to protect my english no tan skin.

After this i used factor 60 with no more problems.

Each to their own i suppose how people choose to swim,but im sure there are better ways of covering up and looking less 'strange' in a pool with other paying guests(who im sure will be moaning to the hotel reception).

Having done swimming at school years ago for seeing what its like to swim in regular clothes,im sure after 10 minutes in the pool she will find it uncomfortable and a hinderance not wearing a bikini or bathing suit ,dont olympic swimmers wear those full body lycra suits,could be worth a go.

Most swimming pool owners frown upon swimming fully clothed, esp something as heavy as jeans, as the fibers clog the filters.

May I suggest she look around for a swimming suit that covers her fully, or athletic wear that tends to be more light weight. Also, there are high SPF waterproof sunscreens out there that, when applied regularly, would prevent burning.

Both of my girls are very fair - blonde hair etc. They both wear all in one suits or top and shorts suits to swim in. Don't make her swim in jeans. These swim suits are widely available and resonably priced

Sorry, misread the post and thought you were talking about a child. Same advice applys though. Tops and long legged trollys can be purchased in adult sizes too.
