TomTao
Looks like these naughty boys spread thier crime spree far and wide, possibly to harder for the BiB to catch on that it was one gang. Good on the BiB for a job well done. Sent from my GT-I9003
asiawatcher
Good nick, but why do we need to see all the names of the brass? What about the B.i.B. that accompanied them, Police are all Police irrespective of rank, but I know, this is how they do it here, all about 'face' and the bust pic being displayed in the family home. Songhua
Excellent job. May have been quite a deal of detective work involved to put two and two together on this one. Honestly though, how many people does it take to make an announcement!

BTW Columbian isn't a nationality it's what they call people from British Columbia. These chaps were Colombians I guess. I hope the Pattaya police have a few more big busts in their town too. onomataho
Colombians are nortorious for planned robberies of gem dealers in the US. They follow them and wait for the right moment. I had a friend -- a goldsmith -- who has his vehicle stolen by Colombians while he was traveling to a gem show. I had the good fortune of living in BC (British Columbia) for some 8 years. Never ever did I hear anyone refer to a person from BC as a 'Columbian' and obviously much less as a 'Colombian'. BTW @Theslime: British Columbia is most certainly NOT ever referred to as "Columbia", within Canada or the USA, but simply "BC". unanimosity
Excellent job. May have been quite a deal of detective work involved to put two and two together on this one. Honestly though, how many people does it take to make an announcement! More likely than detective work and investigation is that a girlfriend on the inside saw a chance to feather her nest by rolling over on the perps, who at the end of the day are foreign guys just as susceptible to the fluttering eyelashes and fantasy stories as a pensioner from Manchester.

Golden Brown
Quote, "Many suspects also had expired visas', why aren't immigration chasing down those with expired visas! They would catch alot more un-desirables in the LOS. In addition what about those who do not have legitimate visas, and by that I mean those who pay back-handers to immigration officers to stay here with-out having to leave the country! I live in Bangkapi and we have had a huge number of burglaries in the past six months. I wonder if it is the work of this gang. One day the wife spotted a girl sitting in a car in our soi for twenty minutes and the wife went to investigate what she was doing there. The girl said she had come to visit a friend and lost her way. But she was unable to give an address she was looking for, or a telephone number of her friend and when the wife phoned the yaam to come, the young woman sped off and nearly run down the missus. So you're probably correct in saying these guys are working with local assistance

Popular Post qdinthailand
Ratcatcher was pointing out the paper's mis-reporting (poor editing work) of the reference to 'Columbians'. It seems to me he was making a joke, by referencing the place in Canada with Columbia in its name. The rest of you who commented regarding the true nature of 'Columbians' are lacking in any sense of humor, or sense of sarcasm. I'm pretty sure that Ratcatcher doesn't need to be schooled in Colombians, Columbians, or Canadians.
