Air Asia Cannot Accept Variety Valid Visa Cards From Oz And Uk Any Ideas

I usually pay online via SCB never a problem but myself and UK friend have tried about 6 "valid in date Visacards with more than suffiecet funds.

I have booked dozens of tickets prior to D Munag move.

Any ideas can you buy by telephone?

I know in Bangkok and Airports you can buy at office but we are a very long way 6-7hour drive from these and flights filling due to Thai holidays?

Appreciate any ideas

You can book by telephone and then pay at any 7/11.

No idea if you can pay at the 7/11 using a Visa card though, I did book on the telephone and then paid cash at a nearby 7/11.

One time couldn`t get my Visa card to work on line, another time it did.

Both prior to the DM move.

I think you could also book by telephone, then pay at a SCB or Kasikorn branch.

Not sure if those options are of any use to you and maybe you are already aware of them.smile.png

1, to accept a cr-cd it does not amtter at all if it has ''sufficient''funds or zero in it-a tipical credit card is for CREDIT anyway-pay at the end of the month the balance due-or spread it out.

2.also the move-over to DMK has really nothing whatsoever to do with this all. Tipical TV crooked up thinking?

3.in fact approval of credit cards is often not done at all by the company involved, but handed/contracted to some other specialised company, but I dont know how it works with AirAsia.

4.ALL offices of AA are listed somewhere on their site-in general they have them in all major cities they serve, incl f.e. Phuket, HYai and ChMai.

5.BUT in those offices and mostly also on the fone, they will not offer all special bargains-only the higher priced tickets. Bookings by fone can be paid at 7s or via SCB-or possibly other Thai banks.

6.failing all that-use brains, or simply look around. Many Thai are in the very same position and still want to/have to travel. They use the tipical old-style solution of tr-agents-whio will lay on a small or big commission, but will be able (as they do it several times daily) to pay directly with their account.

You can also search where the AA office are located in Thailand here.

There is no reason to use a travel agent for AA between the 7/11 payment option & their locations you should be fine.

Also you may want to ring your credit card company and advise them you are attempting to make a charge on your card, chances are they are blocking it to protect you.

Bear in mind that this is an international transaction through Malaysia. I had a similar problem in the past with my UK card issuer holding the transactions. The AA site is not particularly verbose about this as a problem. I would double-check whether your bank is seeing the transactions, but blocking them temporarily.

Does your bank know your current location? Do you use the verify by Visa and enter the security code from your bank?

Is your card a prepaid Debit Visa card or Mastercard, prepaid Mastercard or Visa mutli-currency card ? They may not be linked to your bank account and may be supplied by a different financial institution.

Contact your bank for advice.

I don't know if this is still the case, but back when I was still using Air Asia there were a couple of times that I got CC transactions "rejected" although when I contacted the bank I was told that there was no record of them ever even being presented for payment. I don't know if that was the result of intentional prescreening or just that something timed out at the payment processor and it returned a failure code by default.

One interesting thing was that after a number of payment failures using a US issued card I tried again while connected to the US via a VPN - and this time exactly the same transaction using the same card went through without any problems.
