What do you reckon?

For me: probably Mukdahan. Great Isaan-style life and food, and great views over the river towards Suwanakhet. And when I was there, easy visas, too!

Loei, more specifilly, Phu Reua and Phu Luang (Ban Dansai). If one can put up with the cold at night (and close to all day during the cold season), the calmness of these areas is amazing. So much visible in the night sky, and the betel nut trees are pretty plentiful in Phu Reua, too (some of the best I've ever had). Should be there soon in a couple of weeks.

I generally like Isan (especially the city of Nong Khai), because of its beautiful landscape. And Phang Nga (especially Khao Lak) for mostely the same reason.

Pattani, never a dull moment, every trip out of the fortress is an adventure.

You live in a fortress?

Nakhon Sawan. No airport means not so many tourists. Very underestimated and many untouched places. Some of the best food in the country, and currently going through an economic boom.

Gotta agree there, Phu Kradung mountain is beautiful....so is Issan generally.

Id still like to go see the west coast, still yet to go there.

I'm not that far from Loei, Nanoi, Nan. Up in the mountains. Great views across Nan
