Which Resort To Recommend Near Phu Chi Fa

Recommended Posts

Even though we only live 40 km from Phu Chi Fa, like most people we haven’t been there since last winter. Each year there seem to be new developments but from what I have seen accommodation in the area is fairly spartan. Perhaps that is part of the appeal, however.

I would try one of the popular travel sites for trip reports and recommendations. Most of us live here in Chiang Rai, so Phu Chi Fa is more of a day trip than a destination. January is peak season so don’t expect to have the summit to yourself at sunrise. Last time we went it was rather crowded.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Maybe someone who has been up there more recently will come along with a recommendation. Just didn’t want your query to go unanswered.

I took my wife and her girlfriend a few years ago and the place we stayed was a bit ordinary to say the least for 500 baht.

I ended up on a bed that sleeps six and was hard as a rock.

Across the road there was some nice chalet accomodation and if you check out GT rider site I think the place is called lasses or something close to it.

As VF says its a bit sparse but the trip and the veiws are fantastic !

I have been up there dozens of times and stayed over night 3 times. If you want to see the sunrise there are no alternatives.

There are 2 roads going up to the top of the mountain and where all people go for the view. You have to walk the last 1500 - 2000 m

from both parking places that are the end of each road to reach the top (marked with a "D" on the map).

If you check the map I have attached I marked the first parkingplace with an "A". That is the road most people go up.

There are no resorts on that road.

The other road ends where I put a "C". On this road there are many resorts at "B" and I have stayed in two of them. The best one so far

is the last one on the left side. (It was the last one 3 years ago). It cost 400 baht per person and that was included dinner and

breakfast in the morning.

I also stayed one time down in the village at "E" on the map.
