Student killed after garbage falls from truck

PATTAYA:-- Mystery surrounds the death of a 25 year old Student this week in an accident involving a garbage truck

Initial media reports are now being brought into question as the Tuesday morning accident is further investigated. The accident, which happened just before dawn in Central Pattaya involved a garbage truck, which was operating to collect refuse in the dark early hours of the morning, and the death of a young Engineering student who was riding a motorcycle in the same vicinity

The truck, whilst well lit, to protect the public and the employees who are constantly loading, was surrounded with overflowing black bags containing recyclable refuse. Those bags, its has been estimated, extended the already wide vehicle width by a combination of at least two metres of black bags, on a dark morning.

Neither side of the vehicle had illumination over the hanging plastic bags to afford decent visibility to passing motorists or pedestrians.

Police and medical services who arrived at the scene found the young man lying in the street but still astride his motor scooter surrounded to the front and rear with numerous large bags of plastic bottles and glass which had somehow fallen from the truck and caused him to lose control of his vehicle. The bike had no visible front end damage to it at all which would normally indicate that it had not come in contact with the truck.

Same all over, bags of stuff hanging everywhere, and even covering up the lights. This accident was probably just a combination of both parties at fault, but we see it every minute on the roads. Not much to really comment on.
