Is anyone using FeralHosting for their website or Seedbox

The features and prices are certainly better than I have now

Any info positive or negative is welcome

Thanks

Yup, I used them for a couple of years for a seedbox (I ditched it last year but only because I no longer needed it), very friendly and effective customer service, no issues for me.

Agree with Crossy, Feral is top-notch if you want a managed slot on a shared server. I used them as my main box a year or so ago before I moved to a dedi. I still occasionally grab one of their Helium slots for a month when I run out of space on the dedi. Feral, Whatbox and Byte-sized are widely considered (in the private tracker community) to be the best providers, with Feral top for value for money.

If you can use the Linux command line though, I'd highly recommend a Kimsufi dedi over any seedbox provider. No other users on the server, you get root and a 1TB harddrive. Bandwidth is 100/100 (full duplex) with 5 TBs traffic. Can't beat that for the price, but you have to put a bit of work in setting it up yourself.

Can one of you explain in plain language what it is you are talking about. It sounds interesting but I don't have a clue.

Sadly, Google Translate does not work for tech-speak....wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Do you have any problems with private trackers, if you are seeding from more than one box?

I do not want to get banned anywhere.

PS Feral is more hands on than I am use to.

I had to add plug-ins for disk space and data traffic monitoring,

never had to do that before.

Not that it was a big deal once I know what to do.

Not only Google has problems

ICL used to refer to memory as Main Store

A colleague told me about teaching a class in eastern europe,

with a translator standing along side.

Main Store caused worried looks from the students.

It turned out that the interpretor was calling it the "Big Cupboard" :cheesy:

^astral - no problems, but do check the rules for each tracker. I know some (a minortiy in my experience) don't like it because of potential account sharing, but the rule is generally you can only leech (a particular torrent) from one location, but seeding is usually allowed from up to 3 IPs. Again, check the rules carefully on each tracker and if you can't find an anwer PM one of the staff and ask.

Go for the Feral box. I'll be glad to help you out if you have any problems.

Edit: Just realised you already went for the Feral box, but anyway the offer is still good. Give me a shout if you need help.

No mention in the rules so I sent a message

TheEmpire said OK as long as I do not seed the same torrent from two locations, fair enough.

TVChaos does not seem to know............

so I have deleted all their torrents from the old box

Go for the Feral box. I'll be glad to help you out if you have any problems

Thanks

I seem to be OK so far, after getting the disk quota plugin sorted biggrin.png

I am running ruTorrent. I did check the other options but this is the one I am used to,

and it gives me all the on screen info I need, which the others do not appear to do. sad.png

Remember you can also check disk usage in you manager under 'usage' along with your traffic used.

rtorrent is great. The only time you'd want to use Deluge is if you're autosnatching (it's more agressive than rtorrent). Remember to install OpenVPN as well. It's pretty useful.
