Betting On Uk Horse Racing?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I've been searching through the internet and found some references to the fact that on-line gambling is illegal in Thailand. This stems from the 2004 Euro Football cup. However, I can't find much more recent items.

So my question is, can anyone tell me if it is legal or not to bet on UK horse racing using such sites as Ladbrokes, William Hill etc whilst in Thailand?

Thanks for your help.

Illegal if you are in thailand! :o

Illegal if you are in thailand! :o

Do they have betting at the horse racing in Bangkok?

Disgusting ! :D:o

Technically it is illegal but you really should never be in jeopardy of being caught. I wouldnt worry about it.

Its not illegal at all, provided its not a Thailand hosted gambling site. Ladbrokes can even be displayed in 100% Thai! :o Would it be illegal for a Thai to holliday in Las Vegas? Of course not, and in effect thats all yer doing.

The Thai gambling act has not been changed for decades, and does not cover online bets placed in other countries.

Actually, I remember speaking to a guy who worked for William Hill and he said that they can take phone bets from Thailand, but they have a maximum betting limit per region and it was quite common for that limit to be reached after 1 or 2 calls!

This is straying into a bad area so it's time to close.
