Even True.

Not True, you get 7 GB for 999 Baht.

Yes you do, for the first two days of each month, therefater the performance drops to dial up speed. Been there, done that, got conned by the 3G label. Had the debate with True after the first week and they told me that all 3G servuices are the sma ein Thailand currently, until the service gets built out everyone gets a little piece of high speed at the start of the month and therefater everyone is throttled back, crazy but True!

not true

i have true on my iphone contract and on my aircard

i get throttled back after 5GB on my aircard

i have a spare sim card with 1GB loaded on it

if i hit the limit i put that in

my contract on my aircard sim runs from 27th to 27th and if i have watched to much porn er National Geographic , i get throttled back at around the 21st

otherwise i have full speed service during that period

never happens on my true iphone contract, i just have to pay extra for exceeding the limit

4GB or 5GB is really the same thing, for PC usage those are amounts are very small and will not last very long for most people, obviously others are more conservative with their usage. My PC usuage is easily 40GB a month and from other threads on this subject there are those who will easily double that. The point is that there is no unlimited usage at decent speeds and at a fixed cost, which is what I think many are looking for here.what

Nature of the beast. Mobile connections are always, everywhere limited in some way, simply due to technical reasons.

It might become better/relaxed with the new capacity on 2100 mhz coming online in the next few months.

That is if there ain't another whacky polutician managing to block the ratifying of the auction!

You appear a bit confused. Happy True?? There is no such animal.

What makes you think there is no 3G? Perhaps you phone/SIM card combination is not compatible.

How on earth were you able to use nearly 1GB via EDGE in just a few days??

Thail;and's CAT EVDO aircard was unlimited and the speed was not bad, unfortunately that's now being closed down. Also, I read from the UK press that 16MB (speed) unlimited usage (subject to fair usage policy) is quite common.

You read it wrong.

I didn't make the claim. You did. So it is for you to explain. A link perhaps..

To save you the pain of trying to find something that does not exist..... There is only one official unlimited plan in the sense that you describe. That is the ONE Plan from Three UK. All other have even more restrictive Fair Use policies than are described here or they prohibit tethering.

Sixteen megabits per second?? Deluded.

Speed totally irrelavant as only for email and Banking etc. Thanks.

I'm swaying towards AIS at the moment when I get my new phone. Same sort of usage as above, not too heavy. I haven't really compared the packages yet though. I've been on AIS 1-2 call pay as you go for the past 8-10 years.

I've been on AIS for like 10 years now using their pre paid service and have been happy with it. Now that I get 3G on the dark side even better. I pay for the 2GB a month plan and never see any throttling. I also have TRUE cable internet so my phone is not my primary net connection. I will say that when I'm at home I always get 3G but around town I still notice it drops down to edge many times.
