Non-Immigrant O Type Visa. Do I Need Single Or Multi?

Featured Replies

Hi all, For the last 7-8 years I've spent the winters in Thailand and have always got a Non-Immigrant O Type Multi-Entry Visa. (I'm married to a Thai lady). However this year we're only coming to Thailand for 4 months.sad.png

I've been advised that for this length of stay I only need get a Single-Entry Visa and get a months extension after the initial 90 Days.

My nearest Immigration office is Pattaya / Jomtien. It's many years since I got an extention to a visa, but I remember at that time it wasn't straightforward - I had to state a good resaon for the extra stay.

Will they readily extend my visa? How much would it cost? I'm just considering it might save some hassle and not be too much more expensive just to get a Multi-Entry Visa? (I see that this year it's gone up to £125!)

I'd be very grateful for any advice.

You can extend the visa for 60 days because you are married to a Thai. You'll have to have copies of her Tambien Bann book and ID card along with a completed TM7 form, picture and 1900 baht. Also copies of your passport bio page, visa, permission to stay stamp and departure card. You won't have to do a border run so the cost should be about the same. So I would only get a single entry and extend for 60 days..
