VisasPlus answered the income question when you asked it in this topic.

If you want your wife to live with you in the UK then she will need a settlement visa. The current financial requirements are fairly difficult to meet if you have a low income, but if you are receiving Disability Living Allowance, then you are exempt from the financial requirement. You will, however, still have to show that you have an income that is adequate to support ( and accommodate ) your wife, but it doesn't have to be 18,600 a year.

The current cost of a settlement visa application in Thailand is 42952 baht; plus the cost of her TB certificate and English test.

For more information on applying for settlement, see UK Settlement Visa Basics.

Hello we spoke regarding this last week via telephone

  1. The visa must be applied for in Thailand
  2. You are excempt from the new requirements
  3. But you have to meet other requirements such as maintenance etc
