Electrocuted Or Decapitated, Take Your Pick

Which would you rather be: Electorcuted or decapitated? North of the river from town, along Rim Kok road, some enterprising Thais strung wires over roads, upon which to hang banners (banners are gone_. At one busy intersection, bailing had been strung across all four connecting roads. To get the wires to hang high, it was strung over electric wires. The wires are insulated, but not well, so there was some charge in the wires, which also dangled to ground level. Eventually, those wires will sag down to ground level. As they do so, they could readily cause a 'General Patton' type demise for unlucky motorcycle riders passing by.

I took down some of the wires, with a hill tribe helper. ....you're welcome. There could be other intersections around town, around Thailand, with the same potential dangers.

thanks for enlarging the font. Some adjustment to the text - for clarity:

The wires used were bailing wires, not insulated. The electrical wires they were strung upon are, of course, insulated, but that insulation is not perfect, so some charge can leak (plasticized rubber gets tiny cracks over time). The bailing wire that I encountered a few days ago, had a small charge to it. I didn't have insulating gloves to take it down, so I found some rubber trash on the side of the road, to insulate my hands. If anyone has added info, please post, thanks.

For example, at one end of the bailing wire, it was strung along for 5 meters or so, fastened to foot high stakes, along a fallow field. Why? Is there some nefarious purpose for those wires? Is there some religious significance? I've seen a religious ritual near town, where all the attendees were connected by a dangling white string, wrapped around the wrist of each person - all meditating, except for the main man talking.

What does the electric company think about these things?
