Tagalog Courses - Walen School

Hi guys, our idea to teach Burmese did not work well as there seems to be very little interest so getting classes going was not possible.

What about Tagalog? Perhaps there would be more interest in learning this language. I, for one, am interested in learning as I am traveling to the Philippines quite often but what about others? I am sure there would be a few with Filipino girlfriends and wives as well as those who travel to the Philippines on a regular basis.

Your feedback is very much appreciated.

Didn't realise that there were Burmese courses on offer somewhere - is this in Bangkok?

Currently I am receiving Burmese lessons from a private tutor in Bangkok, but would be interested about any information about a formal Burmese language class.

Please advise, many thanks

There are no classes

SVB, Walen school tired to open a Burmese class but we needed at least 5 students to make it worthwhile. Unfortunately we were not able to get even 5. Perhaps Burmese will get more popular in the future but at this time there does not seem to be enough interest.

Judging by the response to this thread there is even less interest in learning Tagalog.

Have you ever met a Pinoy who couldnt speak English?

Every guy i know involved with a Pinoy says theres no need to learn the language, its widely spoken and understood in the PI, hence why the need to learn it.

Thought you would have worked that out from your many visits.

I spent several years working in the Philippines - and I have met plenty there who couldn't speak English.

Regardless - some people actually have an interest in learning the language(s) of the countries they travel to, and don't just rely on "some guy being involved with someone, who said there's no need....."

Have a nice day.
