Police Raid South Pattaya Pharmacy

PATTAYA:--Just after 1.30am on Wednesday, Pattaya Police conducted a raid of a Pharmacy in South Pattaya and seized medication which can only be prescribed by a Doctor and are not permitted to be sold over-the-counter.

Police Colonel Tamanoon, the Pattaya Police Chief announced the arrest of Khun Worawoot aged 20 at the Diesel Pharmacy located opposite the Welcome Hotel in South Pattaya. He is an employee and not the owner but was caught selling the restricted medication from the Pharmacy. The medication includes Alprazolam, Diazepam, Buprenorphine and Midazolam which are prescribed for a multitude of conditions such as anxiety and sleep problems.

Pharmacy closed down by Police in Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Pattaya: Undercover police investigators raid Illegal Pharmacy shop.

At 1.30 in the morning on Wednesday, a team of police officers, including undercover agents, visited a local Pharmacy on Second Rad, opposite the Welkom Inn and discovered that illegal drugs were available for cash.

The drugs, which include the highly addictive Diazapan and Tramadol were offered for sale to the officers by the only employee in the store, who is NOT a qualified Chemist.

Under Thai regulations, strong or controlled drugs can only be dispensed by a qualified pharmasists, and such is supposed to be on duty in any shop offering controlled drugs. In this case, only the shop assistant was on duty and he was duly arrested and taken back to the Police station.
