OMG! Rumors are starting that Apple will release an iPhone 5S bout same time Samsung 4S hits the market, early 2013. Guess this proves that even Apple knows the iP5 is a lemon!

Posted (edited)

Do you have an iPhone 5? How is it a lemon? The one here is great. DTAC are out of stock, are all the purchasers wrong? My guess is that you are repeating some crap you half-digested on some blog. I don't expect any coherent answers as you must be a Samsung troll or an Apple hater. Go play elsewhere, this is an Apple forum.

Edit: I was going to add some more vitriol yet thought the better of it.

On the bright side, Google's Map application is close to being ready for submission to Apple.

If The Wall Street Journal is correct, you will soon hear a loud whooshing sound. That sound will be the last remaining Apple Maps users fleeing for greener pastures.

According to their sources, Google is currently in the final stages of polishing the inevitable Google Maps for iOS app, meaning that the company will be submitting the app for approval any day now.

I like my Apple iPhone5 very much! I also like my Samsung Galaxy Note2.. (already sold my Samsung Galaxy S3)

to the OP....do you mean Samsung Galaxy S4?? (not 4S right?)

I think it would make sense if they released new models more frequently - once a year is just a very long time in the mobile space. They just updated the iPad after a few months - if Apple gets into the "hey, let's just update stuff as it becomes available" mentality, I am all for it.

The Iphone 5 seems to have some QA issues at least in my experience. Picking my replacement today. But once it works... guess what, it's the best iPhone ever. Not a huge surprise given that it's the latest model...

I actually think the iPad mini is going to be hot competition for the Samsung Note. I admire the Note / Note 2 because of that massive screen. Which is awesome - but it also makes it kind of too big for a phone. I am not yet carrying a man purse and I probably won't ever.

A phone needs to fit into my front pocket - without raising questions about my state of excitement.

Coherent response:

"Do you have an iPhone 5"? I use the 4S model. My wife just purchased the iPhone 5 model.

"How do yoy know it's a lemon"? Many reasons, few listed below.

a. Advanced technology? Yes, a larger screen, nice feature, nothing else. = LEMON

b. ios6! I didn't fire it's developer, Mr. Cook did. Can't load ios5 on the iPhone 5. = LEMON

c. Larger, slimmer battery. Nice, still drains like the Mississippi River UNLESS one turns off some of iPhone 5's supposed "features" = LEMON

d. Cheap case. = LEMON

e. Apple CEO had to make a public apology to Apple's loyal fan base after releasing a bad product. = LEMON

Shall I go on?

"DTAC are out of stock". Now that's a good one. At the latest Commart show, Queen Sirikit which started on the 18th of this month DTAC as well as True Move were selling all models of the iPhone 5. While standing around for 3+ hours to pay for the wife's iPhone 5 I didn't see any cuasomers being turned away due to any kind of limited supply. To add to this there were numerious sellers, Bananna I T to name one who had ample supplies available.

Last but not least! "You must be a Samsung troll or an Apple hater". Yea, U hit it right out of the park on that statement. Our family has three (3) iPhones, 2ea 4S models and 0ne (1) iphone 5 model. We also own three Apple laptops as well as one (1) "new iPad" or iPad 3 depending on what U want to call it.

In addition I own thousands of dollars of Apple stock. I will admit I did sell off a large portion when the stock hit $700.00 a few months back. Made many thousands of dollars doing it and thank God I sold when I did. U see Apple stock has declines 25% in the past three months due to it's product line.

Lets hope that the company can turn itself around, release good products, hire and keep good managers. If they don't and continue to only look at profit margins the company will be right back to where it was when they re-hired Mr. Jobs to bail the company out.

Why do you have to be an Apple hater just because you criticise the company for being slow to bring to market a product that really doesn't offer much by way of new features?

And as for the maps fiasco....

Sorry, but Apple deserve a bit of flak for disappointing so many users.

And like it or not the S3 is taking a big chunk out of Apple's sales, both because they were slow bringing out a new product and because it really doesn't have any "oomph" factor if you know what I mean. It's just a stretched 4S.

I will be doing a detailed technical comparison of the i5 and the Lumia 920 (when I get it) to see which one will be best suited for the corporate environment.

The thing almost writes itself to be honest.

Looks like a case of too little too late, as Nokia has just dropped a bomb - Nokia Here Maps for iOS.

I just tested it, looks like it has much better maps data on Thailand than google maps. And Google maps weren't bad.

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57552291-94/nokias-here-maps-finds-its-way-to-apples-app-store/

Comes with free voice navigation etc. I suppose the business of making 3rd party maps for iOS is now officially over?! I am not really sure what Nokia is trying to do - make the best of its NAVTEQ acquisition and become a maps powerhouse to challenge Google? Nokia will release it on Android, too.

I am happy with my standard iPhone 4. Apple are just making more and more iterations to their products happen faster so that they can release each one with barely anything new between them all to satisfy consumer demand. The iPhone 5S will most likely have nothing really revolutionary compared to the standard iPhone 5 but you can be sure there will be queues on launch day.

This is to compete with Android manufacturers obviously that release their new models much quicker (e,g, look how long the SIII was on the market and gained ground before the iPhone 5 was released).

To be honest a detailed technical comparison of the I5 and Lumia is a great idea. Just one thing. If U decide that the Lumia is better I suggest that U post it elsewhere, like "how to get a Thai woman". That way all the nuts out there will leave U alone. Take it from me!

In fairness, part of the evaluation process will be giving them to some non-techy management types to play around with, and it will be interesting to see how they fare.
