Trying to get an idea of the rough time frame for this application for a thai friend of mine.

From the time she submits the paperwork in Bkk to getting a yes or no.,is it weeks or a couple of months as a general rule.

Thanks

Assuming a single entry Tourist Visa.

If ...

  • your friend has the correct documentation,
  • you have submitted the correct supporting documentation and
  • there are no complications with the application then, if submitted through the VFS,

the time taken seems to vary roughly from 5 - 10 business days ... including postage ... for a yes.

A no takes a lot longer ... ermm.gif

Thanks for the quick replies guys, yes genuinely enquiring for a Thai friend I am not an Aussie, but knowing both parties the no answer longer timeframe seems more likely.

what ever they do ... please advise to NOT buy their tickets before Visa approval.

Some mistakenly believe that it would be taken into account as part of their Visa application.

... ditto Health Insurance.

Sill ... good luck to them.

In the covering letter ... don't ignore the reason to return to Thailand once the Visa concludes ... essential information as part of the Visa decision process.
