Move - Not Copy Files

seedy

Recommended Posts

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Laptop has two discs - C: and D: - both 750 GB

I can not move files - let's say movies - from C to D. I have to copy them from C to D and then delete C

Any way around this ? Windows Help has been no help, and a internet search left me no wiser.

Thanks.

The old Microsoft standard hotkeys Ctrl-X (for cut) and Ctrl-V (for paste) work as well for files as for text. Selecting a file or folder and hitting Ctrl-X to move and moving the mouse to the new location and hitting Ctrl-V will do the job.
