Remember, Farang is always in the payroll and on civil court you spend money and will be loser to. Same happen me a Van Driver hit my stationary car 100% guilty. Police tryed make me gilty but without success and I paid myself my car even Van Driver wasn't licensed to make transport and probably no driver license to! Pay and forget it is healthier sad.png

Nonsens, an urban myth that some people keep spreading.

At the OP, the situation is no different than in most countries: if the driver is uninsured you'll have to get it from him personally. You will need proof he is to blame, and if he doesn't want to pay the option is to go to court. That will take a long time though, so quite often not worth the effort.

The only solution to these things is: don't worry about these damages or make sure you have 1st class insurance.

There is a couple of demands on insurances for registring (when paying tax each year), I am quite clear what demand applies on cars (3:d party damages only)

but not clear over motorbike. I believe there is a demand on health/life insurance to register but I don´t know for sure. However this will not help if the other part

is not registered , but I believe with an unregistred bike in accident it is more easy to win the case.

For both car and motorbike registration a very limited 3rd party insurance is required.
