If I ever develop a faeces fetish, I know I can go for a dip at many of the beaches and play in the filth. What more could a tourist ask for?

I can see why some people like pattaya for partying, shopping, or seeing other attractions. I do not see why people go there for the beach. IMHO worst beach in Thailand, the above video says it all.

Dirty beaches are common in all countries that don't have the funding to put in proper infrastructure before they start developing. Preventing pollution is not really a high priority in Thailand. There are lots of clean beaches to the south of Pattaya towards Sattahip. All you need to do is rent a scooter and search them out. Koh Larn Island is not so polluted and it is only a 20 baht ferry ride from Pattaya.

Went there for an afternoon last year.I swore there and then that I'd never set foot in Pattaya again.Sorry if any members live there but I just found it a sleazy,filthy hellhole.

But....sleezy filthy hell holes have there place if that is what you are looking for.

Naughty weekends do well in these types of places.
