Ex-Thai Premier Abhisit Slams 'political' Protest Murder Charge

Philw. We asked you this question many times before. In view of the paralysis of Bangkok, the invasion of hospitals, the escalating elevels of violence by the mob, the total indifference of the police, and the hostile speeches of the idiots on stage, what exactly would you and your red shirt apologists have done to end the siege? If the mob had been wearing yellow shirts, what would you have done? Would you have let them continue wrecking business confidence, intimidating people and generally making Thailand an international laughiing stock? Easy to criticise, but what would have been your answer to it all?

Maybe a clue in the recent demo in Bangkok where the government called up thousands of riot poice and "civilian auxiliaries waiting in police stations" well before the event where the first sign of unrest was met with tear gas and beatings

The answer is in your last paragraph, wherein the government of the day dealt speedily and safely with a potential violent demonstration and had it under control, from the start, without need to recourse to sniper and troops, using worldwide conventional policing tactics and methods.

A demonstration with an avowed intent of removing an elected government, installation of a military junta and the " freezing" of the country, for the next 5 years.

Looks to me like the government and police did a pretty good job.

Lucky the Pitak Siam protesters didn't bring guns and grenades.

For the general good of Thai society, yes it is.

Having said that, they did actually call on the military to come onto the streets to support them and they did invite a coup.

Who has the guns and grenades in such circumstances ??

Well done, it is of course the military.

Yes. They did call for a coup. Very stupid of them IMO.

The red shirts didn't call on the army. They brought their own supplies.
