Charitable Organizations On Samui

Hi all,

Is anyone involved with a charitable organization on Samui? I haven't found anything online or through word of mouth (other than dog/cat rescue) so thought I would ask here. Please let me know.

The only organisation that I know of that raises money for charity is the Sisters on Samui. They are female expats (mostly) who meet once a month for a lunch and part of the money for the lunch goes to local causes. (Samui Rescue, Nathon Hospital, local schools etc)

Samui Rescue - the ones that scoop up the brains after an accident (sorry for the graphic picture, but when you have a look at the photo-board at their Nathon base you know what I mean). Although I admire them for this work, not everybody is convinced that their motivation is purely compassion for the victims. But some expats work for them afaik.

You may be doing them a disservice; Samui Rescue are funded by private donation (inc equipment or cash for which you'll receive a receipt) & their default hospital is the Govt facility in Naton. Others organisations bedecked in similar livery don't have the same ethics & will deliver patients to the highest bidder.
