Retired School Principal caught selling drugs by Navy Narcotics Unit in Sattahip

SATTAHIP:--A retired school principal who was known to be selling drugs so he could send money to his wife, who is currently in prison in Chonburi serving a sentence for drug offences, has been arrested at the culmination of an undercover operation in Sattahip.

Navy Officers from the Sattahip Narcotics Unit conducted the operation as the retired school principal, Khun Narong aged 65, was suspected of selling drugs to navy recruits as well as civilians in the Sattahip area.

A Navy Officer posing as a drugs buyer was able to purchase 10 Yabba Tablets at a cost of 2,200 Baht from the suspect who was arrested moments after the transaction was complete. This followed a brief chase through wasteland as the suspect attempted to escape.

Well at 65 years old, I'm sure there wasn't really a good reason to cuff him at all, apart from the photo opportunity of course, even you're lot (mob handidly) should've been able to restrain this guy without cuffs!!

He did try to escape once and it's standard practice to use handcuffs for both the offender's and the police's safety.

You never know what anyone carries in the way of "sharps" - particularly drug users.

My "lot" don't carry handcuffs when on station duty but might when on patrol duty.
