Every year I buy a large calender at Makro, its a desktop calender,

called an executive planner, that s the name on the top of it, they are

about 24x20 inches (i have not gone metric yet).

I was at the Makro on Super Highway last week and they did not have

any, so I dont know if they are sold out,if they never had any,so if anyone

has seen any at the other Makros or anywhere around town I would be

grateful if you would advise me.

I stick it on the wall in the kitchen,so its right in eye sight, as my memory

is getting bad, I put on all important dates like 90 day reports,Visa ext.

birthdays, hospital appointments, ect, last one cost bht 225,but it is

priceless ,for me anyway.

they are large, 24x20 inches, black plastic backing ,a strip of plastic

on top ans bottom to hold the pages in.

Thanks, regards Worgeordie

I've seen big-sized desktop calendars, designed to lay flat on a desk, on sale at the stationery departments of Central (KSK) and Robinson's (airport mall).

I recently bought a yearly calendar book at Robinson's. Had all the trouble in the world finding one that starts the week off on a Sunday (far-left column). My current planner starts the weeks off on a Monday and it proved very confusing to me all year!

But Sunday is the end of the week...as in "weekend" sat/sun and then it was always back to work monday; the start of a new week.

If you get confused about that, then you have a problem.smile.png

Dear Eyecatcher I believe all western calenders start with SUNDAY ,just check out the Google calender for a start.,

and if hes retired he would not be going back to work on Monday, correct?, Searcher22 gave a helpful reply, and you come along

and berate him for nothing, you seem to have the problem, not him

I am afraid that you believe wrong.

There is an international standard that defines Monday as the start of the week (check this link), but some countries don't adhere to that standard and start their calendars with Sunday. Google calendar adjusts the calendar according to the language you select and displays the calendar in the standard used for the corresponding country, so for some language selections the week will start with Sunday and for others with Monday.

God didn't start creating the world with a day lazing about; He started on a Monday.

Your argument is with God.

Is that what he told you,he told me the calender should start on SUNDAY,so it gives

you a chance to ease into the new week.and I would never argue with God,enough problems

arguing with the wife. so far 1 good reply 2 negative, and its only about a calender !!

I could be right?, 1 good reply 3 negative, and I only asked about a calender, wish I had not bothered.

Google Cal actually has a setting to let you decide if you want your week to begin on Sun, Mon, or Saturday (see attached screenshot).

Which brings up another point. W.T.F !?!?!?!?!? People actually still rely on paper calendars??? With Google Cal, MS Outlook, every dumb/ smart phone for at least the past 10 years including calendar built in, why?? This coupled with a previous thread in which people talked about carrying around paper notebooks and calculators. I'm really starting to feel like I've either gone back in time or have entered the Twilight Zone.

I'm now waiting for the topic about where to buy printed foldable maps or were to get 35mm camera film developed!

Guys, the 1980-90's were cool and all, but its time to progress. Join the rest of us here in the present. Its time to evolve. Its not as scary as you think!!

But what you stated was that "all western calenders start with SUNDAY", not many countries around the world. Since that is far from true, and actually most western countries start the week with Monday, can we agree that your statement was wrong?

Hi Sophon, So I was wrong that ALL western countries, start the week on Sunday, after all i am only human and prone to mistakes,

if i did not make mistakes I would never learn, and all this over a calender, But as long as it makes you feel superior ,so be it. kind regards Worgeordie

I'm in the same boat as Worgeordie -- After 50+ years of using paper calendars that start on Sunday, I feel comfortable with that. I don't want to change. It's just a calendar on my kitchen wall. And I'm not violating anyone else's personal freedoms or civil rights in the process. Even if 90% of the world did it some other way -- what ever happened to free choice? With all due respect, I think some folks need to lighten up a bit.

It's not about feeling superior, but your are welcome to believe so if you wish. For me it's about whether factually incorrect information posted here should be corrected or left unchallenged so others might believe that what has been stated is true. If I see something posted that are incorrect I correct it, just as I expect to be corrected myself if I post something that are untrue. You say yourself that we learn from our mistakes, but how are we supposed to learn if noone points out those mistakes to us?

Never mind, I have said what I had to say.

Hi Dear Sophon, Yes I made honest mistake, but maybe a gentleman could have pointed it out to me in a PM,then I could have corrected it myself, I will be 110% sure of what I post on ThaiVisa ,now that I know you maybe looking to find fault with me and other posters

on here. I hope you had a nice Christmas and all the best for the NewYear kind regards Worgeordie, PS I still have not found the calender I was looking for
