Perhaps be available from Malaysia web site in that case as they speak English.

Only find spec sheets on Google however.

You are obviously not the only one with this problem.

USER MANUAL

for Hitachi Water Pump WM-P400GX

I live in Thailand and the user manual is printed in Thai. Is there a manual in English ? How can I get one ?

I Have this Manual!Add Comment

I also need this manual

thanks Lopburi

I did an intensive search already and the Hitachi Malaysia doesn't have manual download. I get one from the Japanese website, other than the drawing it is also far from what I could understand :-)

and also someone out there looking for the same manual too, not sure he has luck ;-)

It appears they only market water pumps in this area so only local language may be available - perhaps do as a Thai and have a pump man come/install and explain everything (most Thai do not read instructions anyhow) and make some notes for later.

It shouldn't be rocket science; there's an inlet and an outlet and a power connection.

But I agree that water pump documentation in LOS is sparse. My gripe is with servicing and replacing o-rings, seals and the likes on old pumps. Invariably it is necessary to take the old bits to the water pump store and wait while they dig the new parts out of bags and boxes. Part numbers?.... never seen then used yet but as long as you have the make and model number, it's usually no problem.

yeah, the pump connection is very straightforward - input and output, and power. not expecting though this pump comes with a control panel - 4 buttons ( normal, constant, lo and high ) that I understood, but a 2-digit 7-segment LED indicator telling the status of the pump. in the Thai menu, it is a one and a half pages explaining the error codes.

perhaps, I get some one to translate these one and a half pages, then it is done.

Or don't worry about it; like I am sure most people do. With any luck you will never need to even refer to them and if you do then it can be translated if you actually save the instructions.

Getting a translation is probably the best bet. I had a quick look at the tech specs of the pump and didn't notice that the LCD panel was a feature.

I hope that Mitsubishi consider adding an LCD panel to their product range. There must be an error code for, "brother-in-law threw away the return spring on the float valve again!"

I have an English product brochure in PDF, and there is only a tiny text describing the control panel.

I wish it is a LCD then it is much easier, but it is only a 2-digit 7-segment LED. first digit 3 horizontal bars and second digit 1 vertical bar means a specific error code, then refer to the one and a half pages error code listing that I can't read. it is seriously 1980 display :-)

the install man came and took a look at the control panel, and said 'mai ben rai' :-)

"the install man came and took a look at the control panel, and said 'mai ben rai' :-) " that's because he hasn't a clue what it's about.

hmm . . . this pump drives me crazy ! pump man connected it to the water supply and the house piping, it works every 10 to 15 minutes then the 4A MCB cut off the electricity. Hitachi service man came and has no clue :-(

next to the NORMAL and CONSTANT buttons, also 2 pressure settings :

- LOW starts the pump at 180kPa, and keeps the pressure at 240kPa

- HIGH starts the pump at 220kPa, and keeps the pressure at 280kPa

( I need CONSTANT + HIGH for my house )

symptoms as follow :

- NORMAL + LOW, cut off at 10 to 15 minutes

- CONSTANT + HIGH, cut off in 3 to 5 minutes

is the 4A MCB good enough for this 400W inverter pump ? all idea welcome !

ET, I hope you have better success with your Hitachi pump than we have had with our 300GX. Not even a year old and the pressure switch has had to be replaced and the diaphram air line needed to be purged and tightened. (It was never tight from the factory so water got in.) The pump housing is mostly plastic and even a Four Star is built better.

I'd say the breaker is too small. Replace with a 10A and you'll be good to go.

Sent from my Dell Streak using Thaivisa Connect App

thanks Crossy ! I have a 10A breaker in the same location, I could swap it and test it.

just curious, I thought the inverter pump is built with a DC motor, and should have a lower start-up current. then I connected it to the same 4A breaker ( that used to connect to the previous 300W pump ). also, the cut-off symptom delayed and is not quite the same as the start-up cut off.

how to calculate the breaker amp for this inverter pump then ?

did some homework before the purchase and Hitachi pumps seem to be quite okay. the P400GX is an inverter pump and the price is double plus.

YES, except the DC motor then EVERYTHING inside outside is plastic ! my wife even asked if we need to cover the pump away from the sun and the rain ! the Hitachi outsourced service man is not at all impressive, switched on the pump 5 minutes, then ok no problem. he does not know the diagnostic procedure.
