Can You Do Non-Imm Visa Runs At Any Border Crossing?

Featured Replies

I asked this elsewhere but I want to be 100% sure before I book my ticket to Myanmar.

I have a 1 year multiple entry category B-A non immigrant "working holiday" visa that expires january 24th of this year.

I read on this website:

http://bangkoktimesonline.com/en/articles/visa-run-guide

"For a non-immigrant visa, the closest Thai consulates are in Penang, Malaysia and Kota Baru, Malaysia. You may also visit Phnom Penh, Cambodia. You can also get visas in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore, but these cities tend to be more expensive. The Manila consulate in the Philippines is fairly quiet. You can get visas easily in Sri Lanka, Australia, UK and the USA. AVOID HONG KONG."

This makes it appear that only these places process non immigrant visa's for visa runs.

Probably not but i'd just like to make sure as Myanmar is a lot closer and easier for me.

Also is it going to be straightforward or will I have to provide a bank statement and medical documents again like when I first got the visa?

I'll probably be going with a bunch of backpackers on tourist visas so I don't want to mess them around if something doesn't work out with this.

Thanks in advance

You do not go to a Consulate or Embassy if you have a valid multi entry visa - you just exit Thailand (and if a land border enter/exit adjoining country) and return for a new permitted to stay stamp.
