For The Birds !

Just sat admiring the view from a koh chang house we're renting for a few days and 2 x racket tailed drongos have flown by. Such a beautiful but strange looking bird. Last time I saw some was on the river in kanchanaburi.

Worked it out. They fly back and forward across this little bay in to the tree just in front of the house (right side). Awesome sight: strange flying bird with that long tail. Typical though, I take my binoculars every where we go but this trip I forgot them.

It is a pain in the back to get out of bed at 05:00, but it can be very rewarding. The streets of Bangkok are almost empty and you can see some very nice birds. Juvenile Red breasted parakeet

Painted storks in Bangkok. SORRY FOR POOR QUALITY! I came around the corner, 500kg farang huffin' and puffin' in the heat so they got scared and took off before I could get the camera ready

This was an amazing experience. I could walk all the way up to the bird. otherwise they are very shy. When I was feed up with taking pictures I left and the bird followed me. I have never experienced something like this before, maybe because of my "whistle" technique

Black crested Bulbul in one of the national parks that charge us 10 times more than Thai people. Wonder how that is working out for them.

I was back from Singapore yesterday

Flying to Europe on Thursday (Biz)

Back in the day it would all have been with Thai Airways, now none of the flights are with Thai.

Nothing to do with Thailand. I just came back from Singapore. And of course, I didn't brought my camera as I never expected to see any exciting stuff in Singapore. But suddenly, there was a Hornbill and I only had my Scooby Doo camera

I kind of like the white borders against the white back ground. But you are right, it is kind of distracting. So I try with 2 more Asian Openbill and this time I have saved them at 80% quality instead of 55%. It makes some difference on the sharpness and quality. But the file sizes are blown out of proportion.

And a full page of high quality pictures takes for ever to load. Especially pages where they have not compressed the pictures at all. But the pictures are of course more pleasant to look at
