Popular Post TP1
Great shot TP1 John, Thank you very much. This shot was one of the 350 photos taken last night, trying to get a good sunset over Chonabot lake. Unfortunately there was a light wind and the waters were rippled, so I didn't get the reflection effect. At least I was compensated with the sun rays shining through the clouds. But I keep trying......one day I will get it. This is one with the lake, taken from the same spot.

When the water is rippled like that you need to get a long exposure to smooth out the ripples and get the best reflections. That's gonna be pretty hard to do when you're shooting into the sun. You could look at getting a 10 stop neutral density filter which will increase your exposure time by a lot and allow you to smooth the water out. Just a warning though, if you take 350 shots with a 10x filter, you may have to pack some food . . . and maybe a sleeping bag!

Nooooo......I will show only 4 of them.........already shown 3 of them........don't want to make you sick of Chonabot lake Thank you for the advice.....good for the future, but for the moment I'll wait to catch a day without the wind or the big clouds covering the sun. Hope to achieve it before I snuff it................

DSC_7538.jpg It's really very nice photo..But about reflection..It's more easy to fake it in photoshop. Result will look even better..Yes, you know that it's not real pic..But nobody else do. So..Is it cheating or art? Honestly I don't know answer..Would like to hear opinions.. P.S here is example of "famous" photoshoped image-http://www.adweek.com/adfreak/justin-bieber-claims-untouched-calvin-klein-photo-fake-162295

Popular Post TP1
I took some sunset pictures, yesterday from a Wat in Mancha Khiri district, Khon Kaen. Can't decide which one I like more so I put on 2 of them.
Popular Post Dancealot
@TP1: I found that when I see something I really like I investigate the scene, walk around, locate position and determine probability of dog attacks. And I look for a good angle and best position for where I want the light to be. I'm attracted, then I look. Then.... I get the camera to get my shot. It's a lot easier to decide which one I like because I only make a few. Especially after I stopped shooting wildly around and doing 300+shots on one shoot. It was all fun to do but dont get me wrong here but it was a complete waste of time: it works counter-creative and severely undermined my progression. I learn more in a structured manner now I can focus on where I need to improve. -- "Less is more" This was a beautiful morning and back 3 years ago I would take 100's of shots around. This time I only took only three thought-trough shots of which I deleted one I didn't liked.
Popular Post TP1
Dal, Thanks for the advice, it's much appreciated. What I found, in my very short photography career, is that what I see with my eyes is not the same in the photograph. That's why I get a lot of photos of the same setting and sort them out later. As you said, I delete 80% of them. I,m still not happy with my results and I keep trying to take pictures on different settings on the camera and different shooting positions. Lightroom is very important, but I still haven't managed to work it out. I keep trying and trying and believe me I enjoy every moment of it. Yes.....the bloody dogs is a problem.....got a stick now.....
