Thai Hand Rolling Tobacco - Green Cat

Featured Replies

i swapped over from drum a few months back at 220bt per pack to the local green cat brand at 5bt

of late i keep getting a bad taste .. almost like petrol fumes.

of course all tobaco's are bad for you ..

but is the thai stuff any worse.. do our known brandname tobacos have any treatment to make them not so bad ?

the taste made me start to wonder if the cash saving by smoking local stuff was actually detrimental if it was bad stuff

My brother was here recently and he is a very heavy smoker. He tried the green cat (tobacco) but said it tasted funny. He then tried the red one and said that was ok. Took a lot home instead of his normal Drum duty free.

Not only can you taste it the next day, but you can smell it the day after. Has to be the worst booze in the world next to some of that poisonous Chinese stuff with dead scorpions in it.

Will be drinking some Lao Kow tomorrow, house warming party. Jim

I think the green cat tobacco is supposed to be a menthol flavour, but very week in taste as to make it an odd flavour. I've been smoking the 5baht tobacco for quite a while, there is a golden and a darker coloured tobacco, the darker being much stronger.

there but for the grace of god go i.

the farming of tobacco in thailand would be highly regulated right? the maximum amount of ddt used on crop would be monitored by seeing how many animals down stream died. 1-1000 would be within acceptable limits, but if you took out a village the farmer would quickly add a little less next time. should be fine to smoke. like how bad could a little ddt be? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDT

memory is abit faint but i remember a hand rolling tobacco with a cock logo. pretty good. the rolling paper provided isnt like ones in drum, its like thicker piece of cigarette paper without good. taste pretty decent imo

Not a smoker but would have thought that having it taste of petrol fumes would have been a hint that it was time to give them up?
