Laptop Repair At Tuk Com

Featured Replies

I need to replace the fan in my HP laptop, through experience can anyone recommend one of the shops in Yuk Com?

Thanks in advance RabC

Since we can't name and shame here I'll just warn you that the most recommended shop in the place has been caught multiple times installing key loggers into people's computers. Can't imagine what the lesser shops are up to. Make sure you do a good scan on your system when you get it back unless you want a bunch of Thai guys getting access to every password and account you have.

We all are so scared by the cops on this forum ! 555+

Can I know by PM which shop it is ? I also have a laptop to repair.

Thanks.

I'd skip Pattaya 2U and take it up to IT City on the top floor.

What about that place across from Foodland? Wattana or something like that???

can you not buy the fan or order it on ebay and fit it yourself - should be a simple enough job

Wattana who you mean advised me to go to their branch in Tuk Com as they specialise in lap tops. I looked at changing it myself but with this particular model laptop it's not as easy as ones I have done previously.

I just had my PC upgraded from XP to Win7 at Pattaya 2 You. No malware, and I've used 2 scanners to make sure. Doing another scan in safe mode now to make sure.

can I ask why you need to replace the fan, are temps going up or has it stopped working altogether

I had the fan on my HP Pavilion dv5000 laptop replaced at Tukcom last year.

Thanks for that, I also have a HP Pavilion but, dv6000 laptop. I may need to do some stuff on it soon as, I have had it for about 4 years.

My fan has packed in completely so it now overheats and was also a HP dv6000. I did some Internet research and it seems to be a common issue with these machines. I have left mine with Wattana and the guy there certainly seemed to know what he was doing and said he has seen this many times with this model of laptop. Fingers crossed, I will get back once I see the results.

Update

I just picked my repaired laptop up complete with old defective fan, total 2,500 baht, more than a previous poster said he paid but I was shown the wattana inventory with the price. The job has a 60 day warranty and everything now seems fine so Wattana get a thumbs up from me.

Thanks for everyones input, I guess this can be closed now.

+ 1 have been using them for many years and done many, many jobs with them. Super service, even warrant their work and never ever had a problem. Wattana is also good, but these days prefer Pattaya2You. PF.

Wantanna does not give free estimates.

(not for me)

Beware of tuk com operator with two letters in the name.

(Which also may have been changed, companies change their name when the going gets rough, also have a shop outside near tukcom, family business, terribly incompetent or dishonest or both)

It might even be three letters SK or SPK but again they may have changed the name to laptop service or something else.

Wantanna told me they take credit cards, this may be advisable as there is some kind of charge dispute otherwise there may be no redress.

Well I was offered an estimate of 1800 for my old fan fixed or 2500 for a new fan. I selected the new fan and was given a 60 day warranty so I am not sure what you are trying to say?

I too have used the above shop on a number of occassions and very satisfied with their knowledge, expertise and friendly attitude and reasonable prices. Can be busy at times.
